Trash to treasure on a Testarossa?

GOT PREP?
This Ferrari was recently purchased from a local dealer. The paint was very oxidized and *full* of bird bombs. Single stage, thin paint�all work via PC or by hand. I had the car for a few days, so my process was a little different.



At any rate,--16 hours, some interior repair, and lots of careful polishing.



Process was:



Wash



Clay



HT EC/OP via PC with a white low-profile pad



FPII via PC with white LP pad



Wipe down with OCW



Meguiars #26 (IMO, this should be called “poor man’s souveran)



Apply one coat of Trade Secret the next day



Apply another coat of TS, only this time I “spit-shined� it with OCW (this is really neat and I have had great results using this method with a bunch of pastes lately). For those who don’t know, I basically sprayed OCW on the paint, applied the TS to the area, then buffed off.



Tires wear endurance (original) wiped down after allowing to penetrate overnight.



All trim was polished with AIO



No pics of the interior, but is was cleaned with a damp towel and dressed with Lexol.

The wheels were coated in brake dustâ€â€�I sealed them with wheel wax after a thorough cleaning…

Amazing job on that car, glad to see you are keeping busy in your new business endeavors.
 
Wow, how could someone let a Ferrari just sit and look like that?! Amzing work you did on it, looks better than new.

outstanding turnaround!! I cannot imagine letting an "F" car get to that condition. I'm sure your efforts raised the value of the "red head" several thousands of dollars! The TR is still one of my dream cars, I would love to add one to the stable one day.

ebpcivicsi- Nice job! I'm not a big fan of TRs but I do like a well-detailed, good quality single-stage :D I take it the paint wasn't etched very badly.



So the "pseudo-spitshine" works well with OCW too huh? I'm still doing a lot of my paste-wax-by-Cyclo jobs that way, maybe using a real LSP like OCW will eliminate the slight durability compromise I seem to experience.



Where in Memphis does he plan to get that thing serviced?

Only two spots permanently etched, one on the passenger side headlight cover and another just below it--*very* lucky! I am detailing his Hummer right now and dealing with the same bird bomb issue. :D



The OCW works *great* with every paste wax that I have tried it with.



There is only one place that I know of in Memphis that can service the F cars. I am sort of :o that I don't know the name of it, but I can drive you there. :D It's off of Fite Rd, almost to Millington IIRC.



BTW, if you ever get to memphis again to visit the in-laws(and I am still in business ;) ), I would love to pick your brain about a few shop ergonomics issues that I am having.
