Toyota Tundra detail 56K? eh

EBPcivicsi

GOT PREP?
Did this detail Saturday, this is the third time that I have detailed for this guy. I LOVE repeat business as they know exactly what they are paying for and what to expect. :)

One thing that I learned ffrom this detail was that those yellow bug sponges are AWESOME for removing bugs. I will not go on a detail without one from now on. I will find a link in a second.

EDIT*** Here is the link http://www.topoftheline.com/bugtarsponge1.html

After this area dried I applied on coat of Meguiars colorX cleaner wax. I like to wax this area as it makes subsequent cleanings MUCH easier.

Wow!!! That came out soooo nice! I especially like the door jambs, and that hood shot, as well as the front quarter panel shot; the paint is just glowing and the metallic looks like it really came through.

Have you noticed any sling with No Touch? I like the way it looks on the tires.

Have you tried PB Bug Squash yet? If so, how do you compare it to the bug sponge? Any marring with the sponge?

Thanks!

Thanks man, I appreciate it. The no touch WILL sling on tires with a ribboned sidewall, if the sidewall is smooth, no problem. I buy it at costco and it is really inexpensive.

I refuse to buy boutique "clear liquids" because I can typically find products locally MUCH cheaper that perform the same. I can buy a bug remover locally that is AWESOME for about $6 a gallon. Used correctly I have not seen a bug that it couldn't remove. I just use too much to buy boutique liquids.

About the marring, not sure. I have had the sponge for about a year and kept forgetting to try it. Since I used it on silver I couldn't really detect any marring. I feel certain that on black the marring would be quite evident. Not sure how bad it would be, but the feel of the sponge tells me that it marred the paint. :nixweiss That is round about way of saying that I don't know yet, but instinct tells me that it does mar. :)

I will say this, I used the sponge on the chrome pieces on the bumper which seem to be quite fragile and it did not harm them at all........

Thanks to everyone else!!!!

Wow!

Agree x 100 on the bug scrubber comment. I use it everywhere (wheels, tires, wells, license plates, keyholes, jams, etc).

I have a tundra, and its pitiful to see how bad other people keep thier trucks. That engine shot looks like my engine, and mine has never been deep cleaned.

Fantastic work tho, looks really good especially the tires.
