Towel Problem after washing

Well I have the Big blue towels we all see and I made the mistake of washing those bad boys with fabric softener--well to say the least they dont pick up water like they used too:angry. SO whats the best way to wash these and get these back up to par>?

Re-wash them, and replace the softener with white vinegar.

SO the vinegar must do the trick Huh? Do I still put my detergent in?



I have re washed them once with just my detergent only and that didnt really help

Yes detergent than vinegar rinse.

IF that doesn't do it, up the wash temperature. Mine turn out best when I wash 'em on the "sanitary" cycle and some people even resort to *boiling* them, which I hear works great.
