BLACK DIAMOND, Alberta - He was drying off his freshly washed car.

That's what the Canadian man told the Mounties when they stopped him doing 180 kilometers per hour (112 mph) south on Highway 22 south of Black Diamond, Alberta in Western Canada.

The driver, a 67-year-old who lives in the area, was in court Monday.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said Tuesday the judge fined the man $800 and suspended him from driving for 45 days.

I had a friend that used to use the "speed dry" method as he called it. Don't think he ever did 112 or got busted doing it though hahaha.

I used to do that with my older cars but speed limit here is 55 so 65 or 70 on the county road is fast enough. Last summer after one of my first washes with this car I decided to try it, dang thing dries fast at close to the triple digit mark. Bad thing is we have real hard water and my other cars never showed it but this one had polka dots all over it and spent another hour with quick detail spray getting the spots out. That ended the speed drying. :lol2:

Dean. :rofl

LOL!!! I do this all the time when I give my car a wash with the pressure washers at the automated car wash. Then drive it to my parents so I can finish detailing it. I certainly don't speed though.
