I am going out of town for a week and my 350z will be in the garage while I am gone. Will it hurt to let her sit in the garage for 5 whole days without being cranked. I know this is off topic but I would like to know if I need to have a friend come over and drive it around for one or two days.

Thanks alot guys

Nah, won't hurt it a bit. I sometimes let my XJS (and other cars) sit for MONTHS at a time, have since the '80s. No permanently flat-spotted tires, no problems at all. None. Cars can sit a LOT longer than many people think before something bad happens.

Accumulator is wrong...your car must be driven every day...something about those Nissans...send me the keys and I'll make sure it's driven. (help me out on this one Accumulator;) )

Just kidding of course...think about all those cars that sit on the car lots for weeks. It'll be fine.:up

Up until 5 years ago I always stored my cars from 1 Nov till mid Mar and all I ever did was start them bout once a month if that. Never a problem. I only did that to keep the battery from going dead cuz some memory things carp if that happens . Moreso now withthe *new* cars .. VW will loose raidio codes and even the alarm settings.

Agree long term storage (over 1 month) isn't a big deal but I would recommend putting in new motor oil and coolant before storing for the winter. Reason being that used motor oil and old coolant loses it's ability to keep a balanced pH and may become too caustic/acidic. Other than that you just need to make sure the mice don't get near the car.;)

My 69' Corvette Stingray has not been cranked since last November.

It should not hurt your 350Z a bit. Just don't rev it up too soon after you start it for the first time. That will give the oil a chance to completely lubricate the engine.

p.s. Jesstzn, I always turn off the battery switch for the winter. That way I know everything is completely shut down. There's not much memory stuff in my Vette so it's really no big deal when I start it up again in the spring.

Thanks guys,

All of your responses are greatly appreciated. I didn't think it would hurt it at all, sitting in the garage for a week. Cars do sit on dealer-lots for alot longer than a week. Today is my fairlady's first professional detail day. Wish me luck!!!

When you replaced your 350z symbol with the JDM fairlady z symbol was there any place you could see the old 350z leftover markings. I think it would be a perfect coverup.
