total newb question but here it is

is there any reason to advise against doing imperfection correction a panel at a time. I don't really have the time to spend doing a multi-step paint perfection on the entire car but I could probably find time to do a set of panels every couple days. Say like do the hood all steps in one day, then do the front fenders a couple days later ect ect.



Or do I need to just take the time off and do the whole car in one sitting.



Busy work schedule with a 4 year old and a 6 month old to deal with when I get home from work
 
I shouldn't think there would be a problem doing the entire car over the course of a week, as long as you are completing the sequence/process for each pair of panels and not leaving anything unprotected. Each time you begin a new panel with your PC I'd be very careful that you don't "undo" the edges of the previous panel; you may want to tape off the boundaries between panels so what's sealed remains sealed.

Those are my thoughts.

yeah I figured I would blue tape up the edges of the adjacent panels, and each of the panels would be totally completed in one setting. I am a little worried that the repeated washings would start to immediately wear off my LSP as there would be some wash overlap

The only problem would be if you didn’t wash it before working each panel and there was dirt built up.

I do this panel-by-panel approach fairly often and it works fine. Just keep the polish off the areas where you don't want it and you oughta be OK. Use a durable LSP and it won't be *close* to being compromised by the time you're finished. Then just give the whole thing one more coat of that LSP and you'll be ready to simply wash for a good long while.
 
great, sounds like a solid plan to me - I suppose I will get good and started on the first panels when my pads and stuff arrive
