Topping NXT with a wax, need help

I want my nxt application to last. I live in a VERY VERY hot and humid area, South Florida. What natural wax do you guys reccomend topping nxt with ? Make sure I can buy it locally. Thanks

To be honest, I think you might just do better applying a fresh coat of NXT once every so often. Natural waxes (carnaubas) probably won't last as long as your NXT will, so all you would do is prolong the inevitable. If you want to top your NXT anyway, just go grab a can of Meg's paste wax and let it go smith. One way or the other, you're going to be applying something every now and then, so it's up to you as to what that actually is. Meg's #16 is going to be your longest lasting carnauba, but if you're going to use something like that, you almost have to ask yourself if the NXT is even necessary.

It is hotter in Dallas in the summer than Florida, and #16 holds up very well.

BTW, because I grew up in Phoenix, my definition of hot is 115+. ;)

I lived in BOCA for years and used #16.I would get up 6am wash and wax before it got real hot.I know that other then COLLINITE with the major heat nothing will really last. Not to mention it rains every day or every other day for 15 minutes

I like Jason's idea. Why not just apply a fresh coat of NXT every once in a while. Hey, I've been using NXT on my own vehicles about once every month or so since I started using it last spring. Before NXT I used to use #20 topped with #26 every three or four months.

is nxt (im assuming an acrylic wax) better than klasse? also, what about collinite? i hear this is a very long lasting wax. i'm not the detailing expert, but would klasse AIW + SG + collinite be a good combination for shine and durability on a black car? thanks!

cabe - NXT better than Klasse? that would depend on what criteria you would use to consider one better than the other. in terms of durability, Klasse is the longer lasting one. collinite is a long lasting wax. and AIO + SG by themselves would be a nice look and durable for your black car.
