Topping NXT with #26?

Done a search - tho it's tricky when you can't actually search for the megs numbers (e.g. #26). I tried all the other permutations I could think of... Surprised to see no threads about this??

Anyway, I have a trial sample of NXT, and am keen to try it on my black '92 miata, so my plan is to:

Deep Crystal stage 1 paint cleaner; to clean and remove previous wax layers

NXT; leave 24 hours to cure

#26? Is it OK to top NXT with this? My idea is to preserve the finish with the #26, I'm not sure if it'll improve the look at all, but I'm guessing it won't hurt... Am I right?

Knowing my luck, andthe Great British Weather, I will probably have to wash between the NXT and #26 (outdoor car:rolleyes: ) - this won't hurt tho will it?

I also haven't built in a polishing stage between the cleaner and the NXT; although I do have some #7 I believe the NXT is a '1 step' product, so this should be OK, right? :nixweiss

Any advice / comments most appreciated! Thanks:)

What condition is your paint in? Do you have swirls or scratches you need to remove? The reason I ask is that the Deep Crystal Step 1 is primarily a chemical cleaner and works better on oxidation than it does on swirls or scratches. Do you have access to Meguiars Body Scrub Paint Cleaner? It has abrassives in it that will be a bit more effective with swirls and scratches.

Once you apply NXT, wait the 15 minutes and then wipe it off. During the 24 hours you let NXT fully cure try not to get it wet for best results.

I really like the look of NXT all by itself but, there is no reason you can't use a polish before NXT and top it with #26.

Here is a picture of my Mustang with "just" NXT.

rjstaaf . . . my compliments on your Stang. That is a real beauty.

What else have you put on your Mustang besides NXT? Any carnubas? Would you say that NXT gives the best look???

I really like NXT but, I am a long time carnauba user. My favorite carnauba combo to date is #7 topped with #26 but, #7 topped with #16 is a very close second. I really like the way #26 makes my paint look darker and richer. I have also used other carnaubas like S100, P21S, Zymol Creme and just about every consumer carnauba on store shelves. There are more that I would like to try, Sourveran is next on the list. I have just gotten into sealants with the release of NXT. I have used Zaino before and still do every now and then. I have the Klasse twins to try out when I get the chance and I also just ordered Poorboy's EX-P to try. As you can guess my car rarely has the same thing on it from one detail to the next :D

Here are a couple of pictures of my GT with #7 topped with #26
