Topping EX-P with Ex with Carnuba

Has any one tried it. I am currently prepping my car fo an upcoming show and the car is currently wearing a 2x P21s over Coats of EX-P. I have just ordered some EX wit carnuba as most people seem to think it looks a bit wetter.

Has anyone tried a layer of EX-P followed by a layer of Ex with carnuba?

Cheers

Rich

I've used Souveran over EX-P on my Mazda. There was marginal improvement but even though my car is black, Souveran doesn't seem to do much. I've since switched to using Carnauba Moose and EX w/carnauba on my car (I go back and forth, depending on my mood).

I've tried it. I did VM + EXP + EX. Initially, the VM/ EX-P made the paint look like candy green. Now it has a degree of wetness. Its really dirty so I will try for another layer of EX and see what happens. It does give a different look though :)

I guess ill give it a try. Im def going to do two panels side by side first, one with EX and one with EX-p to see if there is a difference.

Try Natty's over EX. Natty's is slightly deeper/wetter than Souveran. EX/Natty's is an EXCELLENT combo for that deep/wet look.

I should be done with my EX/Natty's combo soon...Doing 3x of each.

I have just ordered some EX with Carnuba and some nattys wax, which a plan to try. Wondered if anyone had put a layer of EX with Carnuba over EX-P, just feeling intriqued as to the look it may give.

Give it a whirl and let us know. I never thought of it, but it would probably make it deeper since that is the main difference between the two. Then top with Natty's :D

Depth seems pretty close to me, but you are right, Natty is very, very wet looking.

is nattys better looking in general then s100? it seems like all poorboys products are focused on wetness, not a bad thing... :)

mnbv: I saw some freshly Natty'd cars in person. I was amazed. They are 2 diff waxes though...S100 is more reflectivity and Natty's is wet. In my stage now, Wetness > Reflectivity

I may have beat you to it, Rich. I finished a bit early today, so I spent some time on my car. Washed and clayed it....main reason I clayed is because I haven't yet with this car but I wanted to get the paint as close to perfect as possible. I then went over my whole car with American Shine's California Clear Coat Glaze with my PC, Meguiars Polishing Pad and a speed of 6. I followed with EX w/carnauba and then topped it off with Natty's Paste Wax. Wow! The paint was glowing! I took a few pics, I'll take some more tomorrow (Saturday) when I have more direct light.

Anyway, Natty's did add noticable 'wetness' to an already wet looking finish. I'll post pics when I finish the roll of film in my camera.

EX and Natty's on any dark solid color is just deep and wetness galore!

I can't wait to top my GSR with Natty's and it smells soo damn good too :D

Have also been playing this weekend too!

IMHO on both colours i have tried a light blue and a dark blue doing half a panel with each both EX-P and EX with Carnuba look exactly the same. As does EX-P with a layer off EX with Carnuba on top.

However through a coat off nattys on top, and wow it looks wet!

I have picture on my ligh blue car with ex-p and Ex with carnuba on it, I havent finished the whole car yet so have not added the nattys. My mid to dark blue car I have done with ex with carnuba and topped with Nattys. On Saturday i tried the ex v ex-p on a panel both looked the same and topped on sunday with Nattys.

From what i can see both the ex sealants as other people have said have a very clear look to them and seem to take on the look of what is underneath them.

Pics will follow later when i get them off the camera. I preped the 306 ( light blue) with a polish with AG super resin, a coat of Megs hand polish and then VM, before using EX-P.

The 205 ( mid blue) polished with AG super resin, staright to VM ( my daily drive so wanted best results quickly!) a coat of EX with Carnuba and then topped with nattys 24 hours later.

I cant comment on which is more durable as i couldnt leave anything un topped long enough to find out! I do find the ex with carnuba **slightly** easier to apply and remove than the EX-p, but both are a breeze. Nattys wax is in the s100 easy to use catogory.

For those of you using EX (with carnauba) followed by Natty's, are your waiting the approx. 24 hrs for the EX to cure, or are you going straight to the Natty's??

Thanks.

The one car as it stood.

Ex-p with p21s on top.

Coat of VM, part of each panel here was given a coat of EX-P, and the other half given EX.

I couldnt spot the difference by eye let alone with the camera

Whole side with ex-p, plan to add a coat of EX with carnuba next weekend and maybe top with Nattys.

Same test on the darker car.

Agin VM, then half the panel EX, and half EX-p

Again could not tell the difference.
