Topping different products

I have been discussing with some friends the subject of topping one product with another. Say souveran or a nattys topped with OCW or aquawax or collinite topped with souveran or what ever combo.



Now I have my thoughts about this. I would like to know what you think.



Say souveran gives you X look. How will adding aquawax or OCW change this look? will it improve the look, will it change the look, will it do nothing or will your layer of souveran just be wasted porduct.
 
I don't think anybody's gonna stick their neck out and tell you to do it; I'd say you just have to try it and see. But I myself would want Souveran on the top. No point (*IMO*) in having a "beauty wax" covered up with something else unless you're trying to achieve some specific look, in which case you need to experiment anyhow (I'd advise some careful thinking first).



I saw an improvement when I topped Collinite476S with Souveran using the spit-shine technique (Griot's SpeedShine for the spit). Others have tried that without spit-shining and hated the results. So IMO it's just another of those YMMV things.

This question was more to settle an argument than what do I do type of question. lol



I dont think my question was clear enough.



Say that you finish a car with the Klasse combo. You now have an acrylic plastic type look on the surface. If you then top off with say OCW or aquawax or Souveran that look has now changed. Forget protection wise and just analyze look wise. Do you believe that since you now have souveran on top you will have achieved the same look as just using souveran? Or will the combo Klasse/souveran have a different look?



I personally believe you achieve a different look with the combo. Friends believe that besides protection wise and based just on look that you might as well save the Klasse application if your gonna top it with something else.

i too wonder this...



but i havent noticed much difference when i use my SG and top it with S100, it doesnt seem to change the look of the SG.

Never did a direct comparison, but yeah, I'd expect differences too. The Klasse would still be between the paint and your eyes (in addition to the Souveran). And the two products give mighty different looks IMO.
