Topping CG V-7 ?

I have been using CG V-7 as a LSP after detailing the wife's car as well as after a wash and have been pretty pleased with it. However I am debating on topping it with a spray wax. What I have on hand are Pinnacle Souveran Spray Wax, DP Aquawax and Optimum Spray Wax. I could experiment but thought I would get some advice before hand...OR would this be redundant and a waist of time? Each seems to have their own advantage...Aquawax can be bought locally, Optimum may be more durable and Souveran supposedly has more nuba but I am not sure about durability?

don't be afraid to experiment. v7 is a sealant and waxing over it may give added depth and warmth. (like bfms over top bfwd does) try your souveran spray wax over the v7, i think you'll be pleasantly surprised. if it doesn't last as long (because of slickness of the sealant), just spray on some more when needed. i've tried many waxes over bfwd with good results, but bfms is definitely the best and last the longest, probably due to the similar polymers, etc in each that results in better bonding.

Although CG lists V7 as a sealant IMO it is more of a QD / Spray Detailer with protection. I have never gotten more than 2 weeks out of it. I have found V7 to be very similar to DG Aquawax. These are the 2 I used the most this past year as post wash drying aids and wipe downs to increase the gloss and beading.

If you are looking for durability I would suggest OCW. It is the only spray wax that you can legitimately get 3 months of durability from. Using something else then for weekly washes will surely extend that further and increase the gloss and depth depending on what you use.

I agree Troy more hype than sealant. Looks good but not a wonder spray as they claim. So IMO yes redundant.

Agree with Troy. I wouldn't say hype, because its one of my favorite and most used products. But it's not designed to be a true sealant that can or should be waxed over like jet seal, BFWD, WGDGPS, and the like. v7 is a QD type that adds some reflectivity and a little protection, and works great to extend the life of the LSP.

I have used Hybrid V7 and gotten 3 months during the cold and rainy season here in Western WA. st. its not m goto sealant but it works nice but dont what ever you do...dont use it on plastic trim or it will make it fade bad.
