Top of the Line Clay

I'm going to be placing an order for yet more pads to help a friend with his car and need to order some clay too. So far I've been buying the Lake Country pads from TOL and will probably order this batch from them too...TOL has been great so far.

Has any one tried their Clay Away & Lube and if so what feedback can you provide? I've used Sonus (really liked it) and Mother's clay but that is it so far. I could use my left over Sonus but his car may need more than the half bar I have left.

Thanks in advance for your input!

I just got some but haven't used it yet. It seems similar to Clay Magic. From what I've read, there's only a couple companies making clay and everybody just puts their name on it.

Yup. That's my understanding as well.

I like the clay magic from auto magic. they have the blue bar (lighter grade) and the red bar (heavy duty grade) I keep both bars in my van. they wont last long if you leave them in the wash bucket. i sometimes use the body shine with it but mainly I just use the soap when washing the car for lube. the big reason I like it is that it doesnt leave clay bar residue everywhere. like some brands do.

mobile mike...

Your correct about AM's clay. I never use red on black !!! But it will really clean everything off a light colored paint (silver/white).

Yeh, I think I check the price comparison between AM clay and TOL's clay. I believe you get more for your money with the TOL clay. Anyways, TOL's clay works as advertised.

TOL Clay

The TOL claybar is 8 ozs. which converts (28.3gms/oz) to about 226 grams. At $15.95 IT SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT DEAL !!!

Claymagic bars are 200 grams and are usually range in the mid $20's per bar.

Thanks again for all the feedback. I wound up buying some more Sonus clay due to a sale at a certain site, but will add some clay to my next order from TOL. My friend has a 99 Solara that has never been clayed so it may take a bit more than usual.

I really appreciate the feedback on not just looking at the price, but the value (amount of clay) for the money. All too often I look at the price...or the fact that I'm buying a kit so it has to be a good deal...and have found that sometimes the deal doesn't seem as good later.

Thanks DC!
