Too much standing water!

The Whaler Loves Detail City
Washed my car with Poorboy's SuperSuds today and topped with Natty's. I wanted to wash my car, polish with Victoria's Lite Cleanser and then do a side by with the Red Wax and the Cruising Wax. Well the forecast called for rain so I decided to just slap on some Natty's. After using a 1/4 ounce of SuperSuds and doing the infamous flush method my car had more standing water on it than I would've expected. Before I washed my car today I put on two coats of EX-P+ and two coats of Red Wax back in mid /late February or late February/early March. Anyway what normally takes one ww to dry my car took two. The car turned out really nice once the Natty's was removed.

On a similar note, I've noticed about the same thing.

I applied 4 coats of EX-P previously to my Mustang, then applied a top coat of Natty's a few days later.

The Natty's seemed to attract the water and hold it on the surface of the car more.

Took twice as much effort to dry it.

:(

Washing with just the EX-P, water would almost fly off the surface of the paint, making drying extremely simple.

Wish I'd have left the Natty's off.

What do you think casued the standing water ?

Rabbi - Just a clarification, the standing water was observed with the Red Wax topper, right?

FWIW, I've never noticed any additional standing water when topping EX-P with Natty's than when just using EX-P alone. In fact, Natty's is just about the cleanest rinsing carnauba that I've ever used. :dunno

The update is the water is beading beautifully on the Natty's.
The standing water was on top of the Red Wax not the Natty's.
Could the reason there was so much standing water be because the paint still had some Red Wax on it and it was just enough to hold the water instead of sheeting off and or bead?

My experience has been that when the wax / sealant protection is gone or almost gone the rinse water always seems to stay on the vehicle longer and is more difficult to remove. Maybe the Red Wax sheds water differently than most products ???
