Too much lube? Is there such a thing?

What do you think? I use a foam gun and my Zaino clay when claying cars, but I think there may be too much lube. The clay just doesn't seem effective enough at removing contaminants.

Suggestions? Thanks!

I do think you can over-lube when claying, it's one of my beefs with the Griot's approach (very mild clay and a wax-based, very slick lube). But don't do too far in the other direction and get marring either ;)

Can't offer any specific suggestion as I've never used Zaino clay.

Oh, FWIW I've found some clays don't work well with shampoo mix as lube. It seems the shampoo breaks the clay down just enough to compromise its effectiveness.

I have clayed 3 cars in the last 2 weeks with Zaino clay and they all cleaned up beautifully. For a lube, I mixed the amount of Z7 noted in a spray bottle with water and sprayed liberally.
