I think it's going to tough to get useful feedback in this thread. I'm really curious to see how many people who voted for Optimum in this thread have actually used the XMT polishes as well.

Personally, I'm abstaining from voting because I haven't used both. I have used the XMT polishes and I can say that they have a lot of the features people are touting for Optimum. They don't dust and have plenty of working time. Plus the XMT polishes smell AWESOME. Although I haven't used both brands, I'm guessing XMT #1 matches up roughly with Optimum Polish in terms of "cut" and XMT #3 mathces up roughly with Optimum Compound.

I loved the Optimum, but then that's the first product line I've tried. I just got a bottle of XMT #2, so I'll be trying that out on another car sometime soon.

I used XMT. I also bought the Pinnacle twins . . . .

Neither touched the scratches and swirils on several vehicles via a yellow pad at speed 6 on the PC.

Optimum Compound on a orange pad Demolished every defect in the paint.

The Optimum Polish made it gleam like it had a coat of souveran on it

Same pads, same method of application, same temp, same lighting coniditions, same machine, same working time, same ammount of product . . .

This is my expierience with XMT 3,1,glaze and ASR/AFP. . .

Some people use XMT and swear by it . . .

Your getting a recomendation from someone who has used all three lines.

Menzurna is the only other polish I would even consider purchasing aside from Optimum, and thats on the recomendation of several of the super heavy hitters and pros on this site . . .

You might buy XMT and love it.

I again suggest Optimum. The smell of a product has nothing to do with its ability to correct paint flaws. Optimum smells like a chemical, I find it to be utterly displeasing. . . . but it does what the label says . . with great efficency....My Pinnacle expierience produced enough dust to create a small haze on the floor of my garage. Now I have 6 bottles of product that no one wants to buy on the trading post. . .

the poll speaks for itself

I have the XMT line and Optimum Polish. I dont have the Optimum compound or the Hyper. If I need any more correction than OP can provide, I mix in some HTEC. Having said that, I like Optimum polish a little better via rotory. I like the look a little more than XMT (not saying that XMT looks bad or anything). XMT didnt seem to have much bite to it. I mainly used XMT by PC as I get the idea that's what it's geared for when reading the autogeek site. I dont usually use OP by PC though. It has a long working time and I dont think I could handle the PC vibes for the amount of time it would take to work it down.

My .02: If you are dead set on having only one line: Optimum. If you are working primarily by PC and dont want to be polishing forever...then XMT may be worth a look. Make sure you get the polishing pad conditioner if you go with XMT.

I havent placed a vote on the poll because I just typed all that out. :D
