Tonneau Covers?

Dad is letting me use his 2000 Silverado Ext. Cab for a couple of weeks while we move into the new place. As a note of thanks, I will be giving it a full detail. It also gives me an excuse to try out my PC, Medallion PPC, Vanilla Moose and Moose Wax. We just put the new bed cover on it over the weekend. What do I use for the cover? I have Vinylex and Celarkote Rubber/Leather/Vinyl treatment. Will any of these products run onto the paint is the cver got wet in rain or snow?
 
I use 303 Aerospace Protectant on my Tonneau cover like once a month or so.

Wipe it in with a terry applicator or sponge and buff it off with a cotton towel.

Try to let it set up a day before rain hits it and you should be fine with it not running on to the paint.
 
Gold Class Trim Care to get the color back to a clean, shiny black and then 303 for some added protection.



This combo will bead water for a few weeks.
 
I have a Extang cover on my Supercrew. I follow a schedule of 303 applied with a small thin sponge every 2 to 3 weeks. It has held its black sheen pretty well IMO. I tend to lay the 303 down quickly and leave it sit on the tonneau for an hour then buff with a clean terry towel.
 
You have good products to use. Just make sure to wash it well as the dirt tends to stick more than paint. Personally, I like 303 Protectant on my cover. If you have some around, try that.
 
I have an Extang tonneau on my F150 as well. I have been using the Extang Tonneau Tonic because Extang stated that other products would void the warranty. However, the tonic is kinda hard to find.



Any other recommendations??? I know that people have used 303 with good results.
 
I had a soft cover on my truck for 7 years before it finally was getting too stretched out and I bought a hard one. I never used anything on it other than soap and water. It never faded (that I could tell, anyway).
 
Pat, my cover is an Extang. I bought it in Feb 99. Just used soap and water until last year when I started using 303. It looks better with 303 and stays cleaner longer.
