Tonneau cover cleaner

I've got an Extang tonneau cover (the vinyl type); and, without posting my excuses as to why it's gotten this bad, I need some recommendations for a good cleaner to use on it. I've got some pretty badly set-in sap that regular soap and scrubbing wouldn't take out, and I was afraid to use my bug/tar/sap remover that I use on the truck's paint for fear of harming the fabric. Recommendations? Thanks.

i have been using 303 protectant on mine for the last 2 years, seems to do real well.. not sure though if there is something better.. :bigups

I have found the citrus degreasers to work pretty well on tree sap...just not for use on paint. Take the cover off and try scrubbing it down with hot water and the "orange" cleaner, then without a doubt keep it treated with 303.

I have to do this all the time with a vinyl hot tub cover, and in 4 years I have seen no degradation from using the cleaner, and it still has the same full color and soft feel from using the 303.

Sounds good krodad; I was worried I'd pick the wrong cleaner and really screw things up. I'll try to scrub it clean with a citrus cleaner this weekend. Have you ever tried the 303 cleaner? I had also thought about giving that a try.

I would try Meg.# 39 heavy duty vinyl cleaner. You could damage the vinyl using cleaner not designed for use on vinyl.
I have been using 303 on my cover but today I put Meg. #40 on it and it has more gloss than 303. If you like the soft Satan look use 303 if you want a black gloss then 40 is what you want it has the uv protection same as 303 but cost less.
