I was able to get my new Frontier washed today, and back in the garage before dark.

So; After the clay bar, washing, & Meguiar's #1 cleaner, do I need to apply the Meguiar's #2 Polish? Or; can I just apply the wax without the Polishing step? I am using Meguiar's Mirror Glaze Professional Hi-Tech Yellow Wax #26.

With such a busy day ahead, tomorrow; if I can get by without the 'Polish', it would make my day a little easier. But; if I need to 'Polish', I will. What do you guys think?

Thanks!!

Technically you don't, but it may bring up a bit more gloss.

IMO, its a new truck, skip it.

Good luck, post pics!

Never polish unles you have to. Do you have light scratches, fading or swirls? If so, give it a polish. If not, skip it.

Alright guys! I just finished doing the Clay Bar, and washing my Frontier. I took my leaf blower to it to speed up drying in the grill, and cracks and crevices. 'Took me about 75 minutes to Clay Bar. Not bad! I used about 3/4 of the bottle, though! Ha!!

Getting a little breakfast, and then, I will apply the #1 Meguiar's Cleaner. Then; the #26 Wax. I might be done earlier than I thought!

If so; I will get some photos taken. :beer_smil :beer_smil :beer_smil

Oh! And, yes; this is the first time, I haved used a clay bar. I cannot believe how smooth the paint surface is now! Wow!

Leaf Blower!! Not good IMO....Gas I would never ever use, reminds me to much of an exhaust.....Electric..is the intake filtered? If not what is sucked in will be thrown out.

It's electric. Hey! It's clean country air! :beer_smil

What is a better way to quick dry if you are waxing the same day as washing? I know, EBPcivicsi uses a leaf blower in this matter. He does this stuff for a living.

But; I am open to other options. Typically; in the past, I would wash the day (or night) before, I wax.

Granted I am relatively new to detailing (27 years). But, I had a friend tell me he was using a leaf blower so we experimented and HIS, I will not say all, but his Toro would expel debris.

Hey Ric! I do understand. I certainly see how that might be an issue. My 'leaf blower' is actually part of my shop vacuum. Funny thing is, I have never actually used it for leaves. When I purchased it (having the blower option), it was actually for the purpose of expediting the drying process. This is the first time, however, it has been used to blow. I usually wash the day before waxing to eleviate water creeping out of the grill, etc... while applying wax.

So far; so good. It blew clean today.

Hey AGR, next time you clay, you can reduce the lube by 50% with wate, or at least I do.

Thanks! I might give that a try next go round. :beer_smil

Yeah I think you are " lubing " too much. The clay works best with minimal lube like right before its going to stop sliding.

I use car wash soap and it works just as good .
