Todays Project: M3

I got a call while out to breakfast from a regular customer wanting me to pick up his M3 SMG right away because he is taking it to Philly tomorrow and wants to get back here tomrrow night really fast before the snow hits :lol . I last detailed the car for him in August and was working on the rest of his fleet since then (M5, Cooper S, Aston Martin DB9, Range Rover, and a Noble 12 for the track!) so this was in pretty bad shape as far as swirls are concerned. The only defects that I could not remove were the numerous paint chips in the hood, like all of his other cars, but since he drives at 90+ like it is his job you can expect that (plus he is selling the E46 for the new M3 when it debuts later this year 400hp V8). Sorry about no before pics but I was in a huge hurry and only had room for about 5 pics with the battery in the camera being dead.
Exterior process went like this:
Eimann Fabrik Power Wash
4* Clay
IP
FP II
Adams Brilliant Spray Glaze
Souveran
Engine:
SG diluted 5:1
BnB to dress

Sorry for the crappy pics but with no tripod and a small garage this is all that could be done:

Nice job...did you happen to catch the wheelwells after the pics? Do you use a high pressure hose on the engine? Looks good....love those cars.

Wheel wells are not important on his vehicles because I have to bring the cars back to his house when I finish. The drive is about 15-20 miles by highway and 5-7 miles of winding roads so I just bring some QEW and Crystal Mist to touch up what collects on the exterior from the drive.
Not that I ever complain about having to drive his cars all of the time. When I had the M3 in August he gave it to me on a Thursday and told me to bring it back next Sunday because he was going to be away. He only does that because he knows how much giving me a fast 60K car drives my father crazy, they are good friends BTW.

you think that makes your dad mad. why dont you let me borrow it and see how mad he gets then...ill take real good care of it...lol

No pressure washer needed on the engine compartment. It was still in pretty good shape under the hood from last time so I just washed regularly, scrubbed with SG, dried with a WW and this blow dryer looking forced air dryer I got from the Harley-Davidson Store, and dressed with BnB.

Looks great.. I must point out the wheel wells but i understand why you didnt do them. I must also say i love that garage floor! HOw do you like the spray glaze? Great job again!

Thanks Greg. Having a tile floor is really nice but next time I'll take the pics in the other garage with the checkerboard black and white tiles, this garage is alot better heated though! You can not see it but the floor was tiled so a Corvette emblem is in the middle where the 66 Stingray Convertable used to be, but no longer. The spray glaze was something that I just got on Friday and I must say that it leaves the paint looking really wet and ready for a Carnauba LSP, it really added some nice depth. I plan on doing a comparision with VM but as of right now I really like the finish it left on the black paint. It is another wonderful product from Adam's.

Looks very nice, and probably even better in person!! Great job :bigups
Yeah Nick it looks alot better in person. The combo of having a small area to take the pictures in accompanied by my inept photography skills equals bad pics. I need alot of work in that department.

you get to work on a DB9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

have any pics??? or ever drive this gem??

your customer obviously has a serious passion of cars and lotsa cake!!

The Aston is pretty new and it has not been driven yet, it was delivered in late October I believe. Once he gets it out on the road when the weather breaks I'll be cleaning it, PA roads in the winter suck. The only car I probably will not have the chance to drive and will have to go mobile for will be the Noble 12 when its engine arrives. He bought a trailer for it and it will be a dedicated track only car. I just got the camera about a month ago so I have no pics of any of his cars but the M3 so far. Stay tuned when the weather breaks for some pics of the rest of his fleet. BTW I'll have the JCWorks Mini again in a few weeks.
