Todays Detail v. The wrong way to use rubbing compound

4830Deuce

Burn Then Buff!
Ok so this client had some caked on berrys and thought he would get them off with some rubbing compound....big mistake! He wanted me to just do his hood to take out what he messed up...I included a wash and spay wax/sealant in my service too. so here it goes.

Process:

NXT wash

IP via rotary w/ yellow LC pad @ 1500-1800 RPM

Opt. Polish via rotary w/ yellow LC pad @ 1200-1500 RPM

FP II via PC #5

UPP to finnish it off

Sprayed it down with some Menzerna Acrylic Shield and put some megs endurance on the tires!

sorry about the lighting in the photos I just got a new camara and am learning how to use it.

Very nice! Kind of reminds me of the Maxima I did a few years ago. The woman touched up the chips on the sides of the car then used a green Scotchbrite to smooth them out. :nervous2:

That Volvo turned out spectacular!

I thought I heard a major sigh of relief earlier today but couldn't tell where it came from. Now I know!

Beautiful work, and a nice save, too!

Hey, new camera or not, nice job !

I bet the client is happy.

he was very happy, he almost didnt believe it when he saw it...I told him how much it was going to cost and he kept on saying, "you sure?" as if he wanted the price to be higher. Thank you all for the comments.

Nice work. They must want the rest of the car done now, the hood must look 100% better than the rest.

sadly he said his wife would never allow him to spend the money for a complete detail...I hope I changed her mind ;) .
