Today's "challenge" !!!

Clean Dean

Keep it clean !!!
Hey DC, been a while since I've posted, and also a while since I had a real challenge. Most my detailing work of late has been pretty mundane, and I've been detailing mostly garage queens. Not that I don't appreciate this type of work !!! I LOVE garage queens !!! Todays 01 Pontiac Grand Am was not one of them !!!

Well that certainly is a challenge. As I remember, You will be up for the challenge.

Look forward to the after pic's.

Here are a few afters... BTW I used a 5 hp shop vac on the carpets prior to extraction. I used a undiluted APC on the carpets extracted, then hit the carpets with Folex, let dwell for 20 minutes then extracted again. The water that came out of my extractor was dark brown (7 gallons) !!!

Great work on that car I hate working on cars like that but love it when I get done.

That is especially true if I was the one that let it get that bad.

I knew that you would step up to the challenge.

OMG! Do you follow tow trucks around lakes for business? I'm not sure if that would be worth the time for under $300-400.

btw - Great job! That looks like a different car for sure!

great work Clean Dean . good to see you posting up pics again . Always a pleasure to see what can be done with these cars .

hey mgm , on a slow week I'd do that for about 200.00 .

When I first opened the thread and glanced at the pic, the first thought that ran through my mind was "construction veicle." THEN I actually looked at the type of car and read the post   :goodluck:

No matter how often I see cars like these it still amazes me that their owners let them get this bad.

Wow... Did you find Jimmy Hoffa in there
Maybe you should show the owner what a vaccuum looks like.
Great job, beautiful save, the customer must have been delighted.

Awesome job!!!!

Personally, I'd rather take a beating than clean an interior that looks like that.

But you would be shocked at how many people there are who drive their cars like that every day!

Then... on the day they go to sell the car, they will spend $150 on a great detail right before they sell it. Unbelievable!!!!!

Nice work.

When I read this, I just SPEWED my coffee I was laughing so hard!!!!

Great job Clean Dean. I'm sure the owner couldn't even believe it was the same car when you were done. BTW how was the paint if the inside looked that terrible?

Thanks all !!!

MADRCN:

The paint was atrocious !!! :bawling:

I compounded with Meguiars PCC then buffed w/DACP before sealing w/ Poorboys EX. The paint still had a tremendous amount of chemical etching even after the PCC was used with a PC375 Schlegel wool pad !!! I informed the owner that to attempt a showroom finish on a car this neglected would require a complete wetsanding and that it would be major $$$. He was more than happy with the finished product and stated that he was not looking for a showroom shine.

BTW... The owner of the car purchased it from a engineering companies fleet. He informed me in advance that it would be a challenge.

Now THAT was an UNDERSTATEMENT of monumental proportion!!!

Congratulations Dean!!! You made another amazing transformation!

STUNNING transformation Dean!!!!!!!! :punk:

I have cleaned interiors on service trucks for a trucking/hauling company that weren't that bad!!! That vehicle definitely spent the majority of its life on a "job site".
