Today, I'm even happier than I was yesterday to own an Element

I went to get some stuff from behind the rear seat and discovered that a whole brand new gallon jug of Megs Gold Class shampoo had burst and run all over the place.

Thanks to the plastic surfaces, cleanup was a breeze (although my car still smells like soap). :).

You really have to get inside one and drive it to appreciate it. Also, they look MUCH better IMO without the stupid gray side panels. I think the 05 and newer EX models have as a "feature" real painted side panels.

The '06 EX-P has painted panels (just another trim level).

The '05 EX has much darker plastic panels so they don't look as "grey". Especially on a black one (like mine).

You're right, you do have to drive it and play with the features to appreciate it. It's the most versatile and downright useful vehicle I've ever owned.

I thought they were butt-ugly when I first saw them, but it definitely grows on you, and after you start looking at how utilitarian the thing is, very few people DON'T like them :).

I saw a funny bumper sticker on one a while ago. Just said:

Ever checked out the mats from Murdoch Industries? I got a bed mat for my Ridgeline from them, though most of their products are for Elements.

Yeah, those mats are nice, just haven't felt like spending the money yet :).

Of course if I had, clean up would have been even easier. :)

They grow on you. I hated them at first, but bought a fully painted black Element a few months ago.

I could have gotten one when I bought mine, but by getting an '05 EX instead of an '06 EX-P, I saved a LOT of money (I paid under 18.5 for an EX AWD).

You got a very good deal.

A friend of mine has one and I've driven it and rode in it and I still wouldn't drive one unless it was given to me and ran on broken dreams! :down

Yeah the '06 its much better looking than the '05.

I almost killed those fender molding with my rotary :nervous:

It's not the model year, it's the trim level. An '06 and '05 EX would be almost identical (only difference I've noticed is that you get stereo controls on the steering wheel in the '06).

The EX-P (which is new for '06) has the painted panels.
