I have been using zaino car car poducts for the last yer or so. I have been very happy with them, except that I use so much of their quick detailer, and the costs add up a lot!! I have been happy using Meguiars Final inspection too. What quick detailer produces a similar result to zaino's quick detailer, yet is still somewhat inexpensive? Also, has anyone had experience using Griot's Garage quick detailer? Also, is there any places that will sell Meguiar's Final Inspection by the gallon? Thanks!!

so it came out to about $18....maybe its cheaper elsewhere....wait a bit and others will post...Fi is great.....as far as being as good as the Z6...i dont think so...INHO...its very good....but i want my candy apple ...and the smell of the Z6...oooo...i almost fainted...what about Ef pearl...i know mos of there stuff comes in the gal sizes....

http://www.detailingdepot.com/detailing/shop/SearchResults.asp..........this one is $25+shipping

I have no intention of knocking Meg`s Final Inspection and it is a good product but for 3 dollars more you can get a gallon of EF Clear pearl. 28 Bucks @ WWW.Topoftheline.com.

I have used both products and feel EF Clear Pearl is superior.

Guys -

This Speed Shine prod. by Griot's is pretty satisfactory.

Goes on EZ and produces a just waxed look and stays

smooth to the touch

Try it you'll see...

What do you guys use on your tires?? I was shining them up with Meguiers...but it seems to sling onto my car really bad....maybe just cuz its a white car. Any other good products???

I have been using One grand Show off on my zaino for several months and love the results. It costs $20 a gallon too. Hard to beat for such a great quick detailer. For tires I use zaino z-16 or 303/vinylex.

Method of application is probably at least as important as the brand of tire dressing you are using. Make sure your method isn't what's causing the slinging by using the following steps (or at least something similar):

1. Apply the dressing with either a foam app or tire swipe. Don't spray directly on the tire.

2. Allow the dressing to sit for at least 15 minutes. 30 minutes is even better.

3. Buff the tires down with a terrycloth towel. If you prefer them shiny, then you can do a final wipedown with your original foam applicator.

Also make sure you are cleaning the tires with car wash soap and a soft brush. The soap mixture should be twice the concentration you would normally use when washing your car. Do this every time you detail your tires. If you tires are very dirty and brown, you might want to use a tire cleaner like Eimann Fabrik High Intensity.

As for dressings, I like Z-16. If getting Zaino is inconvenient...look for Eagle One Concours Satin Tire Dressing or Lexol Vinylex at a retail store. They aren't as glossy as Meg Endurance, but the glossy dressings have a tendency to sling.

Yeah I apply it like you said....it just seems to sling pretty bad....I'll look for the ones you mentioned. Thanks!

vey thorough....:up good avice....i had a change of heart wit this topic about 2 wks ago....like camaro girl.....i loved meguiars endurance..both the high gloss and the gel....BTW....if you dont want any slingin....do what i do...you put it on with a tire swipe...really nice...buff off like inter said...or leave it for the blinding gloss..if u like....whatever u do....the trik i use is...i put it on like 9 o'clock at night...or whenever you know your not gonna drive the car anymore the day.....then...LET IT DRY..........very simple...:p i never had any slinging at all ...ever....why do u have to put it on in the morning...why do u have to put it on right before your going to take the car out....do it before it gets dark,....and then let it dry.....im tellin ya....it lasts forevere...and never slings at all....ever........thats the only time i can say sumthin that sure about any product....glossy...thin..thick...doesnt make any difference...let it dry............however,,,,,,,,,,,back to the rest of my conversion......i tried the 303 on the tires about 2 wks ago..........forget it doods...and dudettes....im hooked....i love it...and its ...a little shiny even...not as matte as i thought.....i clean the tire with EF HI(if dirty like inter said)..in this case i wanted all the old meguiars to get off....then i use a tires swipe to put the 303 on....i spray it on the tire swipe...not the tire cause 303 can go all over ....so i swipe it on nice and heavy.....leave it on for 2 minutes....then buff off the amount i want......they look awesome....i dont think im going back to glossy.....ya never know but i love the 303...2 wks and the tires look awesome...and its been raining for 4 days over here....the tire has water beading off it....weeeeeeee!!:D so happy...

As far as I know, the Eagle Satin dressing is still available at CMA. I have never seen it listed on the Eagle Website. It's great stuff for sure, and as hard as it is for me to say, I like it better than 303 on tires.

Yes, the Concours is still available but for some reason Eagle 1 isn't promoting it. It is hard to find though and I was able to get one only from CMA when I ordered other stuff.

Hey, great idea Flones! I actually like the high gloss with my silver car. Goes well with its glossy Zaino coats but I was worried about slinging. Gonna try out your method though.

Of course, I prefer the the 303/Z-16 look on my black cars.

I just placed an order 2 minutes ago at http://carcareonline.com/ for their gallon size of Final Inspection. It cost me $19.80 plus $5.00 shipping for a total of $24.80. If I were to buy it here locally, I would have to drive 50 miles round trip, pay $24.42 + 8% tax, so I think I saved a lot of time and a few bucks by buying from Car Care Specialties Online.

I like the Sonus QD but hate the price.

I save the Z to use before applying more z stuff.

I use FI for my daily QD of choice do to pricing.

The EF CP is good but pricey compared to FI.

And once you have gone Matte there is no going back to shiny tires IMO. But I have been called nutts before too.

Even though I'm completely overstocked on Pinnacle CM (3 bottles), it's hard for me to get myself to use it because of how much it costs.

I typically use EO WW&S for my daily routine.....4 bucks/bottle (25 cents/ounce). Still, Meg's FI & OGSHO have the best value at around 20cents/ounce when bought by the gallon.

Like "Guess My Name" said, just be sure to use Z-6 right before putting on another coat.

by diluting 50/50 with distilled water. This works well after a car wash, but between coats and for light dust removal always use full strength........

I find Z6 lasts me a long time and I use it about 1-2 times a week. I use about 1/2 to 1 spray per panel MAX.

I have bigger panels. PLus being hot here it tends to dry quickly so I have to make do and tend to do the hood in quarters in lieu of halfs.

Wish they sold Z6 in gallons though.
