Tires

Hey what works great on cleaning and dressing tires? I have used bleach white for cleaning tires and I love the results, but it ruins tires and rims after a while. As far as a dressing I am looking for something that shines and lasts a while.

Thanks,

Heff

Heff- I clean my tires with Griot's Rubber Cleaner when they really need CLEANING, but use EFHI (quite diluted) or Griot's Wheel Cleaner most of the time. For treatment, I prefer Z16, but that might not be shiny enough for you.

No question Westley's Bleche White is nasty stuff. I'd toss it ASAP if I were you.

For a tire cleaner Eagle One makes an awesome product. Hard to find in stores but you can find it online.

EFHI is also an effective tire cleaner. Also works well on wheels too. If you want one product to do both, EFHI is a great choice.

As for tire shines, well, I don't like them and don't use them but I've heard Eimann Fabrik (EF) Black Opal is really glossy. If you want durability try Meguiar's Endurance.

I like using Mothers Tire and Rubber cleaner. It costs a bit more than the EO cleaner, but I use much less of it and like how it suds up mildly with brushing.

I'm in love with (depending on my mood...or whatever I have mixed up) EFHI or Megs APC+ P21 wheel cleaner. A word of warning, though: I clean, then rinse, then clean, then rinse ... 'til no brown residue washes off, so I know it's really truly clean.

I use Pro's Green Nitro on tires and their Non-Acid Wheel Cleaners for wheels.

I really like a low gloss finish on my tires and I just recently think I found the product I like best. Stoner's Trim Shine! It left my tires a nice black for over a week (over 200 miles city). I'll probably order a 5 gallon jug of it soon since I got to try some and really like it.

Pro's Wipe-On Gloss also produces a pretty low gloss finish. It is water-based also. It provides a little more shine than Stoner's Trim shine but not as much as something like a solvent based dressing. I just hate greasy looking tires.

I have had good results with Meguiars APC+. I spray it on, brush it thoroughly and rinse--then do this one more time.

I am really liking Stoner More Shine Less Time. I applied two coats about two weeks ago. Two coats comes out pretty shiney. On these tires I have been cleanig them with a brush and some Gold Class Shampoo. While not as shiney as they were, they look great and I am impressed with durability.
