Tire Shine Products

I have had some sidewalls crack. My experience has been that the really greasy long lasting tire shine products caused the issue. 2 specifically.

I would like to know if anyone else has had this experience? If so with what?

What are you using that you have been using that you like. I need to buy some stuff.

I am not a pro, just someone who keeps my cars looking brand new. For what it`s worth, have found that Optimum Tire Protection and Coating lasts for a couple months. Even after washing with ONR, the tires look great.

I have never seen or heard of tire sidewalls cracking. How old were those tires?

Have had great results from the Tuf Shine line of products since they first came out... Years ago...
They are not even greasy, etc., and their product does not get on you if you accidently touch them, etc...

Last longer than anything I ever used in wet weather, etc...
Never had any cracking, damage, etc., to lots of tires I have used it on for Clients...
They all love it...

Tires look like new, clean, black tires, the whole time..

No chemical smell, color, etc... It`s not even a black color product...

You need to use their Cleaner for best results, and this cleaner really gets stuff off rubber...

Tuf Shine says you can make the tires more shiny if you add more coats.

Good point. I`ve never had a tire dressing product cause the rubber to crack, even the cheap nasty stuff from a big box store. At the worst it just caused my tires to turn a rusty brown color.

If the rubber is cracking or even starting to show fractures, I`d be looking at the date codes on the sidewalls to see how old they are.
