i need some help i have been washing my car for like a year and dressing my tires on my driveway and when it rains there are white spots where i have dressed my tires and i cand get it up i need some major help what do i use i tried some purple power with a wire brush and it would not touch it plese help me out thanks

White spots? Usually dressing leaves a darker area on asphalt, but from your avatar it looks like you have a concrete apron; are you saying you have white stains on the concrete? What kind of dressing do you use?

On my paver driveway (concrete) I powerwash it right off. I'm sure there's a chemical solution, I'll be looking to see what else get's posted.

no it is like the dressing is repelling the water it beeds the water up and cant see it when it is not raining i have no idea how to get it off and what to use thanks

What are you guys using and how are you applying? I haven't had any dressing marks on my driveway since I stopped using aerosol shines.

I use this on mobile jobs:

At home I don't bother, I only see it when it rains...

Bleach may present another problem, especially if the driveway is older.

I would just keep at it with the APC. Youve got a years worth of penetration, one try at it isnt going to remove whats been absorbed over time. You would only be removing the surface oils. What you may need is a light acid muriatic approach. Most DIY stores offer this solution in a ready to use formula.

Lay down enough newspaper or cardboard to allow you todress the entire tire surface and roll the tires over that. Apply the dressing, roll back, problem solved.

Aaaah! I knew someone would mention the product (I couldn't remember it) that's great to clean up concrete with besides a power-washer ... "Muriatic Acid"! ! ! Of course it would be "AKA PATRICK"! Thanks! This is great stuff, just be careful with run-off onto lawn or garden areas.

Muriatic Acid is what seems to be a good try. I believe acid is fairly strong last time I checked :) -- What is key here is that you need something that will soak into the pores of the concrete. So when you apply this (I've never used it) -- Let it sit in the area for quite some time.

When you come back out you'll have a nice hole in your driveway.. ;) -- Kidding.. no it should work.

Though really,.. why does it bother you ? Spots , especially 'white' spots on my concrete don't bother me.. Driveways don't stay flawless... People know that. Pressure washing them brings them back to 90% at least and that is usually better than the neighbors =)

To each his own though..

I never found a way to get that crap off. Never tried bleach though. Now I use the Eagle 1 tire shine that uses applicator sponges. That way I can keep it off the concrete as well as apply it really thin so it doesn't flick off onto the car.

Solvent based dressing would needed a solvent to dissolve it. You could try mineral spirits.

Personally having descummed many boats with acid, it is fast and effective on cleaning/etching concrete. I even have done some boats on my lawn with little problem, lots of water to neutralize.
