What do you guys use wash your tires with? I am not looking for the cleaning products as much as the applicator/cleaning device. Do use just use a generic tire and wheel brush or ?? I was thinking about purchasing the Oxo cleaning brushes...

but was wondering if there was something better.

Thanks...

I use the Detailer's Choice tire brush, inexpensive compared to OXO, may not be as well made, but it works for me and a little cheaper, less quality feel, but its a do-er not a show-er :)

Its a nice brush, and at $3.95, can't be beat!

Purdy tires...

Thanks for the link :) I washed my SUV tires today and felt like I was scrubbing them forever with the crappy brush I am using. That's what I get for buying stuff locally.

Not really, I found this same brush locally at a mom and pop's car store or something along those lines. I have seen a nice Viking tire brush at Strauss.........

I found this tire brush at Target. Someplaces will have it under the Detailers Choice lable. At Target the red stripe on the outside is actually grey. I got this photo from the Griot's Garage catalog. Griot's wants $7.95 plus shipping. I think I paid $5 at Target.

I use a Viking tire brush. It has a knoblike handle. Seems to work well. Plus you can find it at either Target or Autozone (I don't remember which one I got it at).

I use an old clothing scrub brush that had long past it's prime as a useful tooil inside the house - but now it is still being used on my tires outside. It is small and blue and has a full loop handle (not easy to hang on to) but it has really stiff bristles that take the grime off the tires well.

As for the wheels, I use an old sponge that can be squished into small spaces very easily.

For the wheels I picked up some of those microfiber gloves from CMA. They are excellent. you can get into all but the most tiny crevices (which would need a small brush). I use a cotton chenille mitt to get the main stuff--then rub around with the gloves on. Worked great.

I used to use one of those bone sponges with some car wash soap, but that didn't clean them very well.

A few weeks ago, I sprayed some Meguiar's EXTRA and used a brass brush to get all the Endurance off my tires (Keep in mind, I only used the brass brush because I had about 3 years worth of tire dressing on the tires). Now, I just use a Viking tire brush.

Thanks for all the replies. I think I will have to make a local shopping trip and pick up a new tire brush (and of course I will probably end up with more stuff while I am there).

Thanks again.
