Tips for masking Plasti Dip?

I recently used PlastiDip to cover the fog light spears on my Cayman S. It was very easy to use and the results are great.

This application required no masking and was super easy. BUT now I want to paint inside the spokes of my track wheels and this will require masking a flat surface area. My goal is a hard edge. PlastiDip edges seem to pull off cleanly if it is against a lip, or edge or angle where the spray gets thinner and creates a natural weak point where it can rip and pull apart cleanly. I tried masking with tape but the edge, after pulling up the tape, was too rough for my liking.

Does anyone have any tips on how to get a clean edge on a flat surface that requires masking?

BTW, I really like this stuff and am looking for other uses!

I was going to suggest the same as Charlie.

That looks great, BTW. It looks better matted out to match. Have you considered also doing that lower trim piece as well? Not sure how it would look from the profile, but I think it would look good from the front.

Thanks! Now that I know this is all reversible I will get more bold with the application.

BTW, my first attempt with a plastic razor was pretty underwhelming. Not neat enough for me. I tried doing the razor scribing with the film not yet dried completely but the result was pretty sloppy. I am fearful of using a sharper metal blade and cutting the paint. I'll keep playing with it.
