Welcome to Intex!

i bought a few from lowes ($1.96) and noticed from reading on the back, that they are made by the intex brand (micro gear/detailn'gear) which also makes detailing products (microfiber towels, wash mitts, microfiber applicators, etc) that are sold at pep boys, kragen, big lots, etc. these seem very light, soft, and have many large holes for dirt/debris to get buried in compared to the HD grout sponge, and also is the perfect palm size. anyone use these?

Spoiledman will come after you for that one :bat. Still though, let me know how you like it and if it does the job well and safely.

I've used it and it works just fine. Dirt rinses out pretty easily. Personally, I'm not sure what all the hubbub is about using sponges (read the millions of postings). It works nicely, but so do all the mitt types. To me, its not the product so much as the user and procedure.

That said, the sponges are inexpensive and do hold a lot of water/suds.

just got done washing the ride and here's what i noticed... the HD grout sponge is thicker, denser, and holds more suds/water, but the Lowes grout sponge is softer, flexible and more manageable to work with. if anyone is wanting to try a GS, i would suggest the Lowes for the reason of it being softer as i'm sure many on here look at that as the primary concern. BOTH are great though! :2thumbs:

Cool! Have you inspected your vehicle closely with halogens? Any new swirl marks? My complaint about the GS is that it does not spread the suds very well? Would you say the one from Lowes has the same issue?

the key is to squeeze it when you have it in the soap bucket and gently let out and it will absorb a pretty good size amount of suds. then when you wash a panel, slowly squeeze it to release the soap solution as you go to help lubricate each panel as you wash. this is probably the softest GS or sponge for that matter i have ever felt. try one out, it's only $2 and if you don't like it, you can delegate it to wheels...

Thanks! I'll have to check it out. I had already delegated my GS to the windows, lower panels and wheels. I will have to try this one out.
