Dream Machines
Today at my new workplace, city mazda, I was given the task of machine buffing with one of their rotaries, a mazda mx5 in green color.
Unfortunately this buffer only had a low or high setting unlike my makita which goes from 600 to 3000
All they had was farecla g3 and 3M perfect it waffle pads. From my knowledge with buffing (very minimal) I believe your supposed to use a G Mop with farecla
This mazda was in pretty bad shape and it came up well with no burns but I noticed some extremely fine holograms.
I reckon the low speed setting I used was 1700 at least.
1200-1500 is my usual setting when practicing.
Overall came up alright but I really envy you guys. Your work with rotaries is amazing.
Is it possible to buff a whole car without covering the windows and the panels you've just finished
The car dusted up quite a bit so a good wash was in order
Once I get some new edge 2000 pads, I'll get stuck into practicing regularly with my compounds and polishes
Really love working by hand and have got incredible results of late but sometimes you have no choice but to machine it.
P.S. A friend of a friend of mine is a real wiz at spraypainting, crash repairs and refinishing and he hopefully will teach me how to master a rotary.
