Three Product Comparison Questions

For those who have used both of any of these comparisons, please offer your opinions on which is a better product and why.

1. Leather Masters vs. Leatherique

2. Amazing Roll Off vs. Sonax Full Effect

3. 4" Megs pads vs. 4" LC Pads (for DA)

I'm hoping to place an order tonight and I still don't know everything I want so I'm trying to narrow down some choices. Thanks in advance.

UN,

THe only one of these products that I have used is the Sonax Full Effect. As you already know, I think it is by far the best wheel cleaner available.

I wish I could help you with the others.

2. Amazing Roll Off vs. Sonax Full Effect

ARO is a strong APC and SFE is a dedicated wheel cleaner. I have used both and IMO they are not the same type of product at all. Both do work very well for their intended purposes.

Thanks Bryan. Is it safe to assume that you believe that since SFE is a dedicated wheel cleaner, it is better "for that purpose" than ARO?

I know Barry loves SFE and his pics back up his opinion, my only reservation is that it is considerably more expensive than ARO and if the difference isn't too great, I was leaning towards ARO.

If this is for your car and you maintain the wheels, ARO will get it done. If you are using it on clients wheels or your wheels get really bad, then go with SFE.

SFE works very well, but I have had deep imbedded brake dust particles that even after 6+ applications with SRX and agitation, I could not get the wheels 100%.

+1 on the SFE. Unfortunately some wheels just can't be brought to 100%. When a detail starts out that way I usually am in for a long weekend:redface:

I spray it on dry wheels and give it 10minutes and it does a fantastic job. Some have found including myself that SFE will leave your rotors with a thicker rust/film after using. I end up rolling the car up and down my driveway to burn it off then do my final pressure rinse.

UN,

are these the flat pads, hydro techs or CCS pads

I was actually thinking about the non-hydro flat LC pads compared to the Meguiars pads.

I have a bunch of LC CCS pads and a bunch of the older 6.5" Megs pads (8006 and 9006). Often I think that the material the Megs pads are made of is a better quality and more durable, but frankly, I DON'T KNOW ENOUGH to really know what I'm talking about.

My beef with the Megs pads has always been that since I use a G110 (only), that they are a bit bigger than I would like and I'm about to put in an order for various items including new pads, so hence the comparison question.

Bryan & David,

Thanks for the responses. I (generally) only do my cars and those of my friends and family (and never for money). I like experimenting with new products and I know guys like Chad (Rasky) love ARO and others (like Bryan) swear by SFE.

Both are guys worth listening to, so that's why I asked the question.

Thanks guys.

Bryan and Dave - after you get to that point, would Meg's WB be a final try or is it not worth trying at that point?

I have a gallon on hand and used to revert to the megs WB when all else failed, that was before I had SFE. I hated using it and always took precautions but just spaying the stuff left me uneasy.

These days really baked wheels get 2-3 rounds of SFE, if it doesn't do the trick I don't find it necessary to go one step further with Megs WB. Chances are the baked in brake dust will not come off.
