I am about to run out and have only used a brand called "AutoSmart". I liked the performance of the soap but would like some other imput on whats out there I could pick up in gallon form.

off topic, I like their carpet cleaner line - autosmart!!

I have heard good things about the NXT line soap, but I use the deep crystal stuff by meguiars....I am looking into something more economical also at the time....

what about that blue coral wash and wax as just a soap, then polishing and waxing over that....no good???? - its only 2.89 a gallon at target last night for some reason and I was going to pick some up, but didnt

I liked my TOL Bubble Bath ALOT. I've also heard good things about P21S. Over the counter, NXT is great, so is Gold Class. My favorite soap would have to be Z-7 though....this is on the basis of smell and cleaning ability and lubricity. It is a wee bit harsh on wax though.

Where do I find TOL at?

What about chemicalguys? Someone posted a review of one of their soaps and absolutely loved it. Dollar for dollar, it has to be one of the best bargains out there. Also, CG is based in California so if you live close enough you could just go pick it up.... and check out all their other stuff. chemicalguys.com

You can find the bubble bath at topoftheline.com Its a great site, have a look around! They have very fast order turnover as well, so you'd get it soon.

Blue coral, junk, Kit carnuba, junk the only luck I've had with OTC soaps is NXT.

Meg's GC, NXT, Tropi-Care's. Waiting to try Optimum's, FK1, Stuff, Adams Polishes, Menzerna's, 1Z Perls.

I like NXT for an OTC soap. I have tried a bunch of them, and NXT seems to out perform. I have a half bottle of Eagle One, it just does not suds as good, although it's still pretty good.

I'll second Tropi-care's soap. I like it a lot plus it smells good

Has anyone used the CG's soaps? I'm talking out on the field, doing several cars/trucks at one time?

I haven't used it on several cars/trucks at one time, but I've been using CG BodyWash and I like it a lot. Mounds of suds, even with just a half-ounce in a five gallon bucket! Lubricity and cleaning ability are insane, but honestly after-wash slickness isn't as good as I thought it would be. And I love the grape smell too....

Meg's GC, although not as good as the CG BW, is a very nice soap too. It sheets off pretty much perfectly, so if you're doing major business it could probably save quite a bit of time.

I've used NXT and FK1, and I've gotta say that I prefer NXT for customer cars and FK1 for my own. NXT is top-notch for cleaning and slickness, but it's very harsh on LSPs. I usually have Souveran on my car, and washing 2-3 times a week with NXT doesn't play nice with it. I've heard good things about a lot of different soaps, but my next buy is probably going to be a gallon of TOL Bubble Bath. I seem to go through a lot more soap now that I've got a foamgun, and something like 1Z Perls just isn't financially justifiable anymore.

Megs make great car shampoos (I regularly use NXT), but if you want something more economical that performs admirably, then Eagle 1 is great.

In my experience suds don't always mean much. I've used shampoos that don't clean as well (or lubricate as well) as shampoos that suds less.

For exmple, Autoglym Body Wash is an amazing product. It suds, but they don't last. Yet, I've not used a car shampoo that can clean as well. Nor one that has the same lubrication. AG shampoo feels like it has oil in it. Yet it has low suds. And to finish off, it contains strong glossing agents that make the car look like it has just been waxed. :bigups

But that's another story and its quite expensive. I'm sure others can provide more examples...QEW comes to mind.

My point -- suds mean nothing.

I'll get off my soap (no pun intended) box now. :nana:
