If you would like to take part in the CD group test and post. Please put the name of your product along with the test method along with the results here. Make sure to note any extenuating cicumstances.

Now, if you would like to refute the test even before we do it please post here http://autopia-carport.com/forum/showthread.php3?s=&postid=32908#post32908

Thank you,
Steve

ps I will also be taking tips on how to best go about how to test the hardness of a clear coat (and a CD) by e-mail (yosteveweb@yahoo.com). I have a couple of tests up my sleeve already.

Lets hope I don't have to "double" post all my threads in order to separate the bull. (moderators, if we get bull in this thread feel free to delete this thread entirely as I will keep daily track of all the tests anyways)

You might be seeing me 'troll' on these boards a lot more over the next week or so! I had a kinda big surgery yesterday. I had my right knee scoped and the miniscus re-sewn back together. It had been giving me tons of problems for about the last year. So yesterday was the day! I feel much better now. Before I was taking about 6-10 strong pain killers a day just to sort or get along with the pain. Now I have only taken 2 since this morning :) I feel much better. It is incredibly stiff, but I have physical therapy tomo at 930am which I am dreadfully scared off :( but it is with a family friend, so it should be a little easier.

I cant wait to get back to my feet full time and back to work on my truck. A week before surgery I ordered BFWD reference kit, interior kit and glass polish. I did all of them with my new porta-cable 7424xp. Well my truck has never been this slick, shinny and well just great looking! I didnt do the roof or the tail gate. I will be doing the roof after I heal up and can stand w/o crutches. The tail gate is gonna be repainted soon, so no need to put a ton of wax on it. But once i get home (im at my parents house during recovery, so im getting babied once again lol) I will post pictures!!:Dancing Dot:

Glad to hear you got your knee taken care off. Physical therapy will definitely help. Of course doing your truck could be physical therapy also LOL

Mike,

Glad to hear that you are doing better now. The surgery is just the beginning. Once you are done with PT, you will be a new man.

Get well soon.

I've had several friends who have gone through similar knee surgeries. The PT can be tough but is worth it in the end. I am glad your surgery went well and hope that you are on your feet and at full strength in no time.:Dancing Dot:

Wow Mikey, sounds like quite an ordeal. So glad you made it thru surgery w/out any problems. I can't stress enough how you need to follow your doctors orders on the amount of time/ limitabilities you should be working on that knee. Better to do what they say now rather then get antsy and end up in the same shape you were before(or worse)

It will be nice having you around more :Snowman:

Mikeyg402 - Glad to hear you had a successful surgery there.

I had a similar one for a torn meniscus, and I felt great the day of the surgery was done until that night when all the pain killers wore off and I really hit the wall !
Hope you didnt have a similar experience post-surgery as I.

If you take the time to let it heal and carefully follow your physical therapy, you should be up and going soon. But please, dont take a chance on starting back too quickly, listen to your body and it will help you keep it from getting re-injured.

Interestingly enough for me, I had this torn, stretched, etc., meniscus for years from an old football injury, and the pain came and left over the years, and the one time I was bending down to detail out a friends black truck, it "popped" really loud, and I knew I was done for.
But, I finished the truck anyway, and went to the Dr. the next week.
Thank goodness for pain pills, eh ? :)

Take good care, we are all praying for your speedy recovery and look forward to hearing you are on the road again!

Like Bill had said, heal up fast before you know it detailing season is in full swing. They had me walking 1 hr after my surgery! Get well mikeyg402!

Here's to a speedy recovery Mikey and there's no better place to spend time healing than right here with your buds.

Thanks everyone for your kind words and words of wisdom! I thought a few of you old farts would have some experience with this! But unfortunately for me, I was born with a certain genetic condition ( that wasnt found until 2 years ago!) with this genetic condition it causes my joints/bones/tendons to be considerably weaker than most guys my age. So I have to take extra steps to make sure im keeping all those areas extra strong. So if you guys want me to tell you about that condition i sure will, its kinda interesting and with so many men on here theres a good chance Im not the only one on here with it. If I do tell you all about it and you are one with it and dont feel comfortable posting about it, send me a PM and I will definitely keep it confidential

Thanks Dan! thats pretty much how mine came about as well. I played 6 years of football from junior high-high school. My knees took a true beating because at my school if you were even semi-decent you played both ways! I played 8-man football, 80 yard field and tons of running! I played offense, defense and all special teams and well the next day after games I was :Boxing: beaten to a pulp. At 15 I was getting steriod shots in my shoulders and knees and taking quite a few pain killers just to have the ability to sort of function! It was bad for awhile. Then in the off season it was pushing myself way to hard in the weight room and so on.

After HS I didnt have much physical activity, other than light lifting and lots of racquetball. Which brings me to March of 09. I was playing RBALL with my dad and i did a fast cut and felt a pop just like you did! I knew right then I did something not good to my knee. Still i brought it up with my primary care physician and he said no more rball and take it easy. Well that lasted for only a couple of weeks, bc it didnt hurt bad so I started playing again. It hurt on and off but nothing horrible. Around June i had an MRI bc it started to hurt a lil more. It showed a tear in the miniscus, my doc said no more rball!!!

Well I did stop for about 2 months and by then my knee felt brand new so i started again! Well by Nov. I could barely walk. I was taking tons of pain killers and I was pretty gimpy most days. So thats why i got my surgery!

:hurray:

But today it kills to walk. The past 2 days wasnt to bad, but today a day after my physical therapy, I can barely put any pressure on it at all! I just want it to be better right now :(

Sorry for such the long post I just kinda ramble a lot sometimes:tongue:

Mikey,

No problemo on the long post, its fine, and helps us to hopefully be able to help you better.

Yeah, that dreaded "pop" sound and then the pain, yup, been there...

My surgery was done by the Orthopedic Surgeon of the Seahawks, so I know it was great work, since he sees all kinds of athletic injuries, but man, the healling took awhile for me. I think that being much older makes it just take longer too.

Looks like you had a hugely successful sports career but unfortunately it takes a huge toll on your body, as you know. Glad you are winding it down somewhat, so that you will still have the ability to walk, etc., normally when you get to be an old-timer like Luster!! :) J/K Bill, I am probably older than you anyway... :)

Im now down to a bad left hip joint soft tissue, I think, and have all my back issues fixed with a great Chriopractor - something I had never considered doing for way too many years..

Well, take good care, ice and heat will be your best friends for awhile, use them, ok ?

Liked your pic and thanks for starting this tread ! I am trying to post up one of me and my Sweetheart, but cant get it past the thumbnail size for some reason..

Just keep in mind that everyone's body reacts a little differenty to these things, and the normal response or whatever they want to call it, might not be your body's response, listen to it, and it wont steer you wrong..

Good luck !!
