This is why Florida Drivers Suck

The stigma around Florida drivers proved to be accurate today. On the way home from work this happened thanks to a lady not paying attention and smacking right into my fender. There goes my nice shiny paint..

Not that bad, but not driveable. Now to park the car and wait for insurances to work it out. Time to invest in a dash cam.

sorry to hear about this. at least it wasn`t worse

that was some good looking black paint

I almost got rear ended at highway speeds by some yahoo not paying attention last week. Some people just shouldn`t be on the road.

Make sure they replace the L.F fender, blend and clear the L.F. door, L pillar, and hood for color match. There should not be any arguments there. Pretty cut and dry repair.

We have some great expertise on this forum. Thanks for helping out.

Still think ATL drivers are worse. I`ve had sooo many close calls. Far more than I can remember in FL.

I agree, it`s minimal damage and should be a fairly easy repair. I will also have to have the wheel repaired/replaced although the damage doesn`t show up very well due to lighting. I`m just worried about how long this will take, especially when the other driver tried pushing the blame on me though she turned into my car.

But at the end of the day it isn`t the end of the world and if this is the worst thing going on in my life, I can`t really complain too much. Everyone was OK and my son wasn`t in the car either.

Am I correct in thinking I should have a Ford dealership do the repairs?

Dealerships are not known for quality body work. I would choose a reputable Independent Body Shop that is known for quality rather than quantity work. It is @ a 5 day job.

Thing about FL drivers is that this time of year so many of these drivers are tourists and they don`t know where they are going or how to get there. My city population grows around 30% during the "season" and I admit I was a snowbird for a decade before I moved here. Sorry to see your damage.

that sucks. Did they get the door too ? Is that a focus? It`s hard to find a good shop, my last one had a list of issues I brought up after the fact. It looked like they hurried the job, after having it for weeks and putting off the due date.

That`s hard to say, look at some of their repairs. They may take it to a local shop. If it`s one of their "tri-coats" they will have some experience doing that type of paint.
