I worked on the SOB for 9 hours yesterday, I will go back and finish it today.

This is the left side of the hood.

I did:

2x black wool/strada 1000/hitachi 2000

1x green wool/p1500/hitachi 1500

1x blue 3m/ultra fina/metabo 1500

I still could not get it 95% right. The area needs wetsanded, but the client said he did not want to pay for that. Maybe he will change his mind today.

Heck I even put my metabo into thermo shutdown when using the black wool with strada 1000 on the hood. I almost left the hitachi at home.

If I use the yellow wool and the 3M ECC, I can finish down after w/ the blue 3M pad and ultra fina. Black wool with strada needs followed with green wool and P1500, then the UF combo.

Wow that a rough surface. Wet sanding, if the customer was willing to pay, looks like the fastest route to a good finish. Did you see it prior to accepting the work?

Good choise with the wool. Too many people get gung up on the foam pads and dont want to wash the car a second time after they polish. Sometimes its the best thing to do.

Good Lord, what did they do? Wash it with a Brillo pad? You most definitely saved that guy from a paint job. He ought to tip you big time!

Man that thing is brutal. Just looks like it's been run through the scratch n' swirl its whole life, and the paint is somewhat soft. Great side-by-side. Great work and good luck getting it finished!

Wow! Thats some of the worst swirling I've seen. Great job, wouldn't want to be in your shoes though. :soscared:

Oh my!! That's the worst swirling I've ever seen! I can't imagine what a PITA that was! It should be illegal to do that to your car..what a shame. Great job, and post more pics of the end results.

Hope the owner got a great deal on buying that car in it's condition, Bryan you earn your money on this one (hope you charged accordingly), my UDM would have ran away from this one, great work on this PITA finish!.........:bow

So far you are looking great :up . Sure is a hell of a comeback .Always amaze me How can people allow a car to get like that .

Cheers , Jean Paul

I am new to here but I agree. Wetsanding most likely would have shaved 1/4 of the work time. Sometimes people have more money than brains... You sure did a great job with only pads and compounds though!
