Thinking of trying one of these for trim

sounds like a good idea but the only thing I can see going wrong is that the product would be to thick to be dispensed

What about the foam brushes that they make that are angled for painting trim in your hosue etc????

I have used those before too, but never went back to them. No particular reason why??

I was thinking that these would be neat becasue it would store the product for you and dispense it as needed.

Beason, yes that could definitely be the case. I typically use #38 and feel that it *may* be too thick to make it through the small feeding hole. I know something like #40 would work.

I will just give it a nd try and report back.

This is an interesting idea, please let us know how you come out. You didn't specify what product you intended to use.....certainly something thick will probably not dispense properly through the bottle. I use TR with a 1" foam brush or a 100% cotton knit cloth. I get the most long lasting, even and glossiest result by buffing the trim with a 4" Spot Buf finishing pad covered with a short nap MF bonnet on the PC. I've found that it is the buffing, not the applicator, that gives me the result I want from the TR on the trim. Ther have also been many comments that TR is designed for textured rather than smooth trim surfaces. I have used this buffing type method on smooth trim with good results.

I've used these w/ Vinylex and PB's TR....it's OK , but very messy.

The foam tends to saturate quickly , then the product just flows out rather freely---hard to control.

Plus , you'll still have to spread product---or sop it up , as the case may be---with something.

Through my use of these applicators I found that they just weren't worth the hassle.

But , that's just me....YMMV.

Thanks for the heads up. That seems logical because of the way they are designed. I will give them a try and report back.

I would say go with the little green/blue bottle. After applying PB TR, some areas need a thick coat to saturate in and this could easily help you. A little bottle like that would easily do a few vehicles. Let me know how it goes. Thanks.
