Protect and Shine
Just as the title says, what do you think of the knowledge that you have learned visiting DC. The reason I ask is I was just responding to a thread about buying something to get knowledge that is right here at our finger tips. I also had a friend buy a auto detailing book that was about 200 pages and cost him $25.00. When he was done with it he asked if I would like to take a look at it, so I did. This was last week, and I've had the time to go through the whole book since then. I wasn't able to find one thing in that book including all of the tips that has not been covered here at DC. It was almost like I had been studying for this big test on detailing and I knew all of the answers before I could finish reading each sentence. I'm not saying I know everything there is because I don't.I contuniue to learn new things thanks to DC and all of the knowledge here. I'm just trying to express my opinion on the abundance of valueable knowledge that one can learn here at DC.
 
I agree with Blueline's comment. You cannnot buy a book or take a course to learn all the information that has been found at this site. I have been a member since Sept 05. There is a tremendous amount of information available by frequent visits and just keep reading the posts.
 
I've been lurking here since DC started and a member since I left the moderator staff at Autopia. Not a day goes by where I don't read something I didn't know before. Learning is a constant progress and it is only what you learn after you think you know it all that counts. DC is an incredibly asset to the detailing community I think.
 
I would agree and although i was here in the very begining and was then MIA for a awhile and not posting i did learn alot here and still continue to do so. I think that this place is as follows:

I think this site is priceless, its a place for pros and amatures alike to meet and share tips and tricks. There is no book so matter how big or small that can include all the tips and tricks, as well as so many opions. That what I love about this site, is you get many opions of every product It makes it easy to make and educated guees on what to buy. I like how there are a few poeple that I agree with on what ive used and when they recomend something i go buy it, it saves me a ton of money that i could have spent trying it all.
So this is my thanks to everyone who has put thos toghter, all the mods, all the sponsors, and of course all the members
If i had to put a price on this like i said it would be priceless
 
I have been coming to DC for a long time now... and I pretty much sign on every day to check things out. I agree that the stuff on this site is priceless.

Over time you pick up a skill to weed out bad info. Unfortuntately all boards have it.
 
I think now would be an excellent time for the owner of Detail City to pass the offering plate around.

I have only been on a couple other forums and yes I 100% agree with how much info it has and how we learn everyday what I admire the most is how humble and helpfull people are to all newbbies and everyone in general.
Some of these sites you just get talked down to and there is also a few people who think they are god. This is by far a great site and I feel that the sponsors and our DC staff have alot to do with that. The knowledge from this site never ends and the thoughfulness and kindness never does also.. :yes:
 
I can concur that this site has introduced me to new products and process that have made me a much better detailer....The knowledge here is unlimited at times and the first place that I turn to when I need help or have a question.

In addition I have found endless joy from talking to others all over the world that share in a common bond with the love for cars and detailing.
