As part of a group of friends preparing a Rally Car to participate in SCCA ClubRallys, I had the enviable task of starting work on the restoration of this 1986 VW GTI Mk2.
Since we've got a lot of other engine, suspension, and interior work (can anyone say "Rollcage"?), I just did the hood and some trim. You can see in the before pictures a thin, shiny strip left by the clear bra that had been removed.
I started with a dash wash to get all the built-up dirt out of the paint. I followed that up with 3M SMR with my newly purchased PC, AIO'ed, and then SG'd.
