The pros and cons to fabric protection

Hey guys quick question. If I fully detailed and older model car (95- 98 for example) and they wanted a fabric protection on their interior would it work? Because I heard that fabric protection is only good on a brand new car. Help me out because I debating wheter or not I should buy some fabric protectant?

Providing the fabric is cleaned (303â„¢ Cleaner & Spot Remover) first a fabric (303â„¢ High Tech Fabric Guard, with UVR protection) will protect fabric whatever its age

Fabric protection has been pretty standard on material from the factory (the factory that made the material) since the early 90's. It does not hurt to add more.
