Wow

I would be afraid to own a car that expensive. I would be too temped to drive it :D

One of these days I hope to put together a Factory Five roadster similar in color and options to the one pictured below. For the money the Factory Five is probably one of the best kits out there. Sure, there are more accurate replicas out there but, they cost almost as much as an original. www.factoryfive.com

In a lot of ways the Factory Five roadster far exceeds the capabilities of the original.

Factory Five also sponsors a spec racing searies called the Factory Five Challenge Series. Nice thing about the series is they put what they learn from racing right back into the kits they produce.

Too many other options for $600K. I would buy a vacation home, finish my basement, get some Wilson Audio speakers, and then buy a Porsche GT3. :)

I know another place that makes REALLY nice replicas is superformance (www.superformance.com). I think they make all the parts and everything in South Africa, ship some of em to somplace in Virginia, and all you need to do is get and engine and someone to put it in for you. Those factory five ones look really nice too though .... oh well, someday when I'm rich and famous I'll get one ;)

I'd be curious to see that guy's vacation home, finished basement, audio visual setup and car collection ;)

$600,000 to us is only $6,000 or even $600 to the person with that kind of coin. That person is recession proof with disposable income out the ying yang. I was reading the other day in the doctor's office about hotel rooms in NY City that go for $12,000 a night.

A black convertible LS6 454 Chevelle SS (the highest optioned of 3 in existance) went for $300,000 at Barrett-Jackson this year.

Just unreal what some cars are going for these days.

Here is an auction that blew my mind. The first Shelby GT500 E Convertible built by Unique Performance in conjunction with Carrol Shelby. Keep in mind this isn't even an original. It was a regular 1968 Mustang Convertible changed into a GT500 E clone and it just sold for $550,800. Technically, I guess it is a genuine Shelby seeing as how Carrol Shelby is affiliated with the project.....
