The Perfect Shine

I was reading David W. Bynon article "Perfect Shine" in the learning section here and was wondering if Pinnacle Souveran was infact all that? I am tempted to try the process and I don't mind spending the money but $100 for a wax is steep especially when you don't know the outcome.

Any comments on the product?

Thanks

I love Souveran but it is pricey. The main think is the prep in whole. Souveran has the edge just over other Waxes but IMO over a good prep there is not a lot off difference. Infact the other day over a already preped car, I could see hardly any difference between the Souveran and Signature.

For example Clearkote Carnuba Moose wax is very very close in apperance.

Let me know if you would like to buy a can that has barely been used. I detailed this guy's red Jag and he wanted some so I ordered it and used it two times. Now he wants something with more durability as he doesn't want me coming back every 2-3 weeks. He wants monthly visits...damn it. :p

Souveran and signature are the same flavor, same company... one for darker colored cars, and the other for lighter cars....why should they be more than fractionally different???:nixweiss

mochamanz- My point is Souveran is a good deal more expensive than the Signature. The Souveran is then as you say marketed towards Black cars. If you read the linked post in my reply you will see that there was not alot to justify the extra $$ on the souveran when I did I side by side test on my black car.

The first post in the thread asks if Souveran is worth the money, and I am not sure weather it is worth the extra IMO.

Its funny that you should agree. I have been using the following.

MPPC

P21S Cleanser

S100

Since I would like to do the car soon I think I'll try

MPPC

P21S Cleanser

NXT

Would it be beneficial to put my S100 anywhere in that mix? Would it make sense?

You could top NXT with it. I havent tried it but I think it would give a pretty deep carnauba look to the NXT. Do a small section and see what you think.

I use Pinnacle's Signature Series made for meallic paints. Since Souveran is so expensive, you might want to experiment with cheaper brands. If you can't see the difference in waxes, then what's the point spending more money on a wax you won't be able to appreciate?

Anyways, my signature series wax, I can't tell the difference between it and a Meguiar wax I use to use on it, but this is during broad daylight. HOWEVER, come dusk, that's when I can tell the difference between Pinnacle and Meguiar. Pinnacle Signature has a very deep wet look to it. It's great, it looks like I have 1" thick layer of water around my car. With Meguiar, the depth is superficial.

But, I can only tell the difference at dusk or at night in the city lights. So is it worth it for me? I'm still debating it. One thing bad about Signature Series wax is that water marks are awful. It's like: what's the point in making my car look great when a rain storm later, it's gonna look like **worse** than an unwaxed car due to the water marks? I mean my hood reminds me of a spotted leopard skin.

I think you should use Pinnacle if your car is gonna be in a car show. It's durability isn't the greatest, it's water mark prevention is awful, but it's optical ability is great. If you don't plan on having your car in a car show, then don't buy the stuff (Signature series anyways.) Look for other alternatives, (which I'm hoping to do.)

Sorry, my bad...:nixweiss

Should I do multiple passes with any of the products. My paint is really clean as is. I was thinking if I was to add multiples it woud be only with the S100. I guess it would look something like

MPPC (1 pass)

P21S (1 pass)

NXT (1 pass, 24 hour wait)

s100 (2 Pass)

From what I have read NXT is only beneficial when doing a one time pass due to the minimal cleaners that are in the product.

I currently have soveran on my black GN garage queen. It looks absolutely awesome, deep and wet. But..........to tell you the truth, I thik I'm going to go back to Zaino. I'm one of those guys that just can't keep keep my hands off the paint. Either QDing or Car Dusting. I feel that Zaino leaves a great wet look with much better protection. Even though my car doesn'y go out that often, the Zaino protects my finish from the "wipe downs" that I do. I guess you could say that a regular carnauba wax is more "delicate." To me Soveran is worth the money but it depends what your looking for. Zaino leaves "A Perfect Shine." IMO.:)
