Don't think much of washing with a sponge for the wash but the rest is very interesting.

My price just went up for detailing my wif's mini-van:D

FWIW, I have used both a sea sponge and a grout sponge for washing and had no problems with marring the paint.
I was leery of them as well until I read several post where others have used them with good results.

I've used a grout sponge once and didn't notice any problems. I've only used it the once, just too chicken I guess. I use it for wheel wells now. Maybe I'll get a new one and give it another shot.

I guess there is a nitch for everything...and when you have people who are willing to pay that kind of money I would do it too.

He charges $5000 and it takes 64 hours. Which may seem like alot but I can't imagine the kind of insurance he has to carry.

In 64 hours I could probably do about 12 cars figuring 5 hours per car, at $200 per car I am around $2500+...

not to mention I am dong M&M, mcdonalds fry riddin soccor mom mini vans.
