The "Holy Grail" Klasse twins post that used to be stickied...

Hi all,

Haven't been here in a LONG time! I am trying to find a post that used to be stickied about how to use the Klasse twins. It was an awesome post but I forgot who started it...it was the "holy grail" of Klasse and it told you exactly how to use the product and how to remove with final inspection.

Does anyone know where it is? I have been searching for the last hour and can't find it...

Many thanks!

Brian

Cleanmaxx, the problem with the link you posted is the path, your link shows autopia.org/forumS, and it is now "forum" (no S). This happened during one of the vBulletin upgrades 4 or 5 years ago, I guess DavidB was moving some stuff around and had to rename the directory (or it was just a typo). I remember this because it played hell with old threads that had links to other threads in them, or if you had bookmarked a thread like you did.

I was reading through the instructions at the link above, and the posts following it, and I'm confused on whether or not it's a bad idea to use Meguiar's A3332 Quik Detailer Mist & Wipe Spray to wet the applicator before applying the AIO (vs. using Meguiar's Final Inspection or water or some other product).

According to Meguiar's website , neither product contains wax, which people were saying was bad to use when applying the AIO. But on another portion of their website they comment that "Final Inspection is a body shop safe, paintable product, while Quik Detailer is not body shop safe and is not paintable. The terms body shop safe, and paintable, are terms Meguiar's uses to describe products that do not contain any wax, silicones or other ingredients that will negatively affect surface adhesion in a fresh paint environment. Final Inspection is specifically formulated for use in body shop environments. Quik Detailer contains ingredients that could affect surface adhesion in a body shop environment and should not be used in these areas."

I already own Meguiar's QD as I was going to use it for claying, and I was hoping to also use it for the Klasse AIO (rather than buying another product). I'm a total newbie and trying to minimize all the different products I need...

Thanks in advance for any further thoughts about whether I can use the QD to wet the AIO applicator.

I always just use water to dampen the applicator pad for AIO...

Right. And I'd be *VERY* leery of using leaves-stuff-behind QDs instead. I can't quite remember why, but I have the feeling that the Meg's QD can be especially bad in this regard. M34 is quite different from most QDs, much "cleaner" with regard to what it leaves behind.

Eh, KAIO is soooo easy when just used "as per label instructions" that I wouldn't try doing anything weird. Dampen applicator with water, apply, wipe off before it dries completely. People usually get into trouble when they use a dry applicator, or apply too much, or let it dry for a long time.
