We all know that there isn't anything nicer than a show car with smooth as glass paint and 3-5 coats of clear. But, assembly line paint jobs always have some orange peel, some worse than others. Is this neccessarily a bad thing? If your car's orange peel looks like hail damage I'd say that's bad but moderate orange peel might not be all that bad. Has anyone else noticed that from a couple feet away light orange peel tends to give a cars paint a bit of a distorted look-even a bit of a wet look. My cars rear spoiler has the worst orange peel on my car but that spoiler from a few feet away has a bit of a shimmer that other smoother panels don't. I also think the orange peel tends to camaflauge some day to day road rash. Can orange peel be a diamond in the rough?
