The Fish of 10,000 Casts, They Say

I took my kayak out on the Wisconsin River this afternoon, and after a couple dozen casts, this monster came up from the depths and grabbed my lure. What a thrill it was to catch that on my ultralight rod and 4lb line, from a kayak no less! :woot:

And people told me I'd never catch a musky from a kayak. Hmmph.

I'm not a big fisherman, but I have a buddy that's a fishing maniac and musky are his favorite to catch. Every summer, the guys in his family crosses the border and fishes for musky up in Canada. This reminds me, I should give him a call. He's since moved to the Chicago area, but it looks like he's still busy fishing and posting on boards. If you're a member of any fishing forums, you might know a David Heine aka muskyman.

Wow, that's one hell of a catfish in that first pic! My three goals for the summer were to catch a musky, a BIG catfish, and a dogfish from the kayak. One down...
