The Car is prepped, now what LSP to apply?

I just polished the GT, probably about 6-8 hrs total over two days :) (and that's with a pc :p )

I was wondering what product I should apply for the summer? It is black fyi.

Available products:

Tropi Care polish

Zaino Z2

AIO/ NXT combo

Mother's Pure wax

I'm leaning toward the tropi-care but the z in me says Z2 .

if you prep it correctly mothers pure wax and then NXT on top I did that in April and it gives a nice shine

I'm going to be different .. I have black .. I like Zaino .. I would Z2 x ? then mothers pure wax if it is like some of the others to add wetness and depth .. I used #16 on Z2 and really like it but hey why spend more $$ on another can if Mothers will do it.

I ended up measuring out 1.25oz of Zaino and seeing how many coats I could do with it. I got 2 coats on everyting, including door jambs, wheels + inner rims, windows and all exterior plastic, and 3x on the roof. The hood was excluded which recieved another coat of tropicare polish. The wheel wells were treated to AIO.

I'm still undecided on the tropicare, it definately looks better than the zaino, but I am not sure how the durability will hold up, I beads well but the beading is not as tight as Zaino.

pics to come, but it rained for the three days straight after application so it looks terrible right now :(

I don't mean any offense here, nor do Imean to hi-jack this thread, but I am puzzled by your choice of using a caranauba wax and then topping it with NXT?

Would it not be best suited and more compatible to use the NXT and then lay down the carnauba?

By the way, my choice would be the Menzerna FMJ:)

LouisianaJeeper,

I'm up here in NW LA (Shreveport/Bossier area), so I pretty much have the same weather concerns you do (hot, humid, rainy; did I say HOT and HUMID?). My plan for this summer is to continue using NXT topped with #16. It looks stunning on my Arctic Pearl White, and I can only imagine the depth/clarity on black. #16 has great durability for a carnauba, and is easy to use. NXT has gotten mixed reviews, but I really like it and get great, consistent results with it.

If you end up tired of the Zaino look (I'm not fond of it, but it's a personal preference thing), try the NXT/#16 or other suitable carnauba. I think you'd end up pretty impressed.

Hasn't our weather been great this past week? Hopefully it's gone, but my arthritis is telling me it may still be lingering...

I grudgingly have to say AIO/NXT.

I personally am not an NXT fan (although I'm a *big* AIO fan) because I've found that NXT tends to darken the paint's color a bit. I don't tend to like any product that changes the paint color.

However, on *black*, It looks great. I don't notice the color change (it's black, after all :p ) The only reason I don't use it more often is that durability hasn't been great for me.

LouisianaJeeper,

I say AIO/NXT. I just did My Balck Acccord with this yesterday. Good Shine. I used to use Zaino but I gave up on it in Louisian because of the time it took to dry with our hot humid weather.

thanks, fellow louisiana detailers.

It dries pretty quick for me even w/80% humidity. I'm probably going to end up topping it with a paste wax after the next wash.

I'll be the odd ball here...

On black I would use NXT x2 with about 12 hours in between each coat...then top with Meg's #26 paste wax (I like it better than the liquid).

I LOVE #16 but I do prefer old #26 on dark colors.
