The Blue Angels

I spent the day at what's become my home away from home dealership which is a half mile from the airport here. They are having their annual air show sunday and I spent the entire day watching The Blue Angels practice. This was my first time seeing them in person and I have to say these guys are incredible. To think that they were just messing around today makes me want to go to the air show and see what they can really do. They flew right over my head at least 60 times. My ears are still ringing. It made for a really cool day.
 
I've seen them a number of times at air shows...those guys rock! My father works for Boeing here in St. Louis so I've been a fan of fighter jets since I was a baby.

What airport were you watching these at?

Cape Girardeau Missouri. Not far from STL actually.
 
I have never seen them, but hear nothing but good!

We have a small airport here. Mainly for single prop, personal planes. Nothing big. On occasion, some folks will get out their old Bi-Planes and fly around. There are a few vintage, WWII planes that stay out here as well. Always fun to watch them fly over the house low. (Airfield is about a mile or two away) Then they have some small corp jets that fly out of there as well. Kids love it, esp when a few take off at the same time in formation.:)
 
I think my kids would really enjoy it and if I don't have to work on a last minute job I think I'm gonna take them. There is supposed to be some WWII planes and dog fights and stuff as well. Only bad part is the heat index is going to be well over 100 Sunday.
