textured plastic

In my mothers car she has textured plastic that has some stains on it (theyre black might be the sole from the shoes as the plastic trim is at foot level) that I can't remove with household cleaners/brushes. Any technique/clue as to how to remove it? The texture of the plastic is preventing the stain from coming out. I'll try to get some pics tomorrow in the morning. Thanks in advance. :)

A concentrated all purpose cleaner and elbow grease with a cotton towel has worked for me on most occasions. I've actually used a drop or two of fresh out of the bottle motor oil to deteriorate the rubber marks when nothing else would work. I was very careful to follow immediately with APC as to not have another stain to deal with. Just be careful because some interior plastics are dyed and certain heavily concentrated cleaners will remove the dye.

If your looking for something that you have on hand WD40 sprayed onto a clean rag in some cases can take those out.

The poorboys trim restore is another if you are looking to order something online, the TR is good for all kinds of uses on the car as well

Tuff Stuff can get a lot out. Just brings the soil, grime, etc. to surface to wipe off. Spray, let it sit a moment, and then a little elbow grease should finish it off. AutoZone carries it if you don't want to order it online. Make sure to seal afterwards as stated above to avoid these in the future
