Tex Star Detail Saves The Day!

Tex Star Detail

Formerly TexasTB
Story...

Got a call while working last week. I missed the call, so I called back later on. When I called back, the lady said she had an '05 Ford F-150, and needed the interior detailed, BUT, she already had a mobile detailer from a few towns over, going to her house to take care of it. I said thank you for calling, and told her if I can do anything for her down the road, to not hesitate to call me.
Fast Forward.....
I get a call over the weekend from the lady. She wanted to know if I could do her Ford. I was out of state, so I scheduled it for today.
Curious, I asked if the other detailer was a no-show. She said he showed up, but did VERY BAD job.:D
She mentioned that the guy left the car a mess. Didn't vac under the seats, slung some GREASY dressing all over the interior, and messed up the seats and carpet.
When I say messed up the carpet, I mean it was bleached out. The seats were still stained up, and you can tell where he tried to clean. I asked if he used a carpet extractor, steamer, or any other type of machine, and she said he did NOT. She said he used a scrub brush, rag, and a bottle of DEGREASER. Yes, degreaser....on the carpets and seats.
Very sad.
Of coarse, she did not pay for the service. She said she told him she is not paying him and he asked why. Told him because it was worse than before. Apparently, he got defensive and ticked off. She said she would pay him for the gas, and he said "keep your f***ing money and don't ever call me again". She said that is what he said, then threw his stuff in his truck a blew out of there.

I guess this sort of goes along the lines of the previous thread I made..."Lying Cheating Detailers". LOL
Needless to say, I went out today, and she was happy. Said she has a Mustang that needs done soon. Granted, I could not get the 'bleaching" fixed, or a few spots that screwed up the seats. I told her she should call him back and try to get new carpet if it was him that messed it up...

I will upload the pictures in a while when my Wife gets home. Camera in the truck....

2 afters...

The rear seat was still damp. I had to go over it 3 times with the extractor.

She came out every 10 minutes to check my work, and I do not blame her. Should have taken more afters. The dirty floor mat came clean, but not perfect. Maybe a 7 out of 10. She said he left them out of the car. Said they were wet and to not put them back in for a day, or they would mold... hahahahaha

the drivers side rear floor mat was missing. She said it was there before this guy detailed the car, and is now missing. I dunno....lol

Chris,
The seats on our expedition(grey interior) are stained just like that.Is an extractor the only way to ge them clean?

Very nice work Chris. For some reason, I'm always stunned to see what passes for a "professional" detail these days.

I would think so. The seats in the fords are wacky. She said they didn't look like that when he came, but with his bottle of degreaser and scrub brush, made them spot up like that. Then didn't suck up the mess good enough.

Wow, what a disaster! That guy had NO idea what he was doing....that's flat out scary. Good turn around, you've now got a lifetime customer!

What type of extractor do you use? And also what type of cleaning product do you put into it?

Amazing turnaround...I would have thought the degreaser would have left permanent stains. Also with the carpet mats being wet he probably just sprayed them down with a hose.

I used straight water the first pass, then an extractor fluid in the machine the second, then followed with another pass with plain water. With the first pass with clean water, it was semi foamy in the recovery tank. That is what I pulled out of the seats and carpet.

I use a Mytee HP60

As far as permanent stains, the rear carpet was permanently messed up, it was bleached out. Lighter than the rest of the carpet, where he sprayed and scrubbed.
