Testing UV protection

Do you think there is any way to test the UV protection of different products? What kind of test could we come up with to effectively and fairly test the UV protection of different waxes and polymers?



I don't know, Is there some time of material you can get that is easily effected by UV? Kinda harder to test the UV protection than it is to test PH. Can't buy UV measuring paper... or can you?



Any ideas? I know there are a lot of scientific people here.
 
About a year ago, a guy had me rolling when he used Klasse as a sun tan lotion. He claimed it protected him, but I think he used too much.
 
Prescription glasses can be made with or without a UV filter. (UV is harmful to the eye) I have a UV meter in my office. You simply put glasses in and it reads the % of UV blockage.



I suppose you could put Klasse on a non-UV lens and get a reading that way.

Hmmm... I bet those machines cost a lot though.



I could always coat pieces of glass or clear plastic with the wax and test it like that. I wonder how well stuff would bond to glass?



Good idea Idrops, I'll have to look into it.



Any other ideas?
